- Nearly 90 percent of the games will be carried on national broadcast or national cable.

- The minimum number of telecasts collectively on ABC/ESPN/ESPN2/ESPNU will be higher than the number of telecasts in the former contract, which expires at the end of the 2013 season.

I wonder in todays world, is ESPN 3 is considered National Cable? Otherwise, why have that 2nd bullet. For example, for the ACC, ESPN is to broadcast every game. Some games are ESPN 3 only. Just a thought.

first off the 90% was before tulsa arrived...it is around 83-85% now

for the people mentioning ulnv..that games was scheduled after our main tv line up was set up..and 1-2 unlv vs 1-2 houston isnt any reason to have the game bumped

and espn 3 is included in national "broadcast" which all of our games will be nationally "broadcast"

83% of our games will be nationally "televised".. on a espn tv network or cbs sports

for basketball it has to be for all conference games but that technicality isnt on the football side..so some of the 17% required not televised could be technically be conference football games

ESPN3 is not considered to be a national broadcast. Aresco has addressed that issue several times. However the press released said EVERY AAC football game would be televised on national TV or a ESPN network. It then went on to say that 90% would be broadcast nationally. I'm guessing ESPN3 does satisfy the broadcast part of the requirement. It counts as a broadcast---but it doesn't count as national broadcast. That said, the AAC only has about 70 home games in the package. Ten percent is 7 games. So roughly about 7 games should be ESPN3 exclusives---the rest should be on ESPN networks other than ESPN3 or subbed out to CBS-Sports.

I don't know how many have already been on ESPN-3 exclusively so far. Typically, the FCS games have recieved the dreaded the ESPN3 only treatment. I know our FCS game was on ESPN3 (though the ECU FCS game was on ESPN-News I think). I'd say if we get more than 10 or so AAC home games exclusively on ESPN-3, then the contract was misrepresented. This is the first season under the new deal, so I am curious to see how it plays out. Last season was the first year under the new media contract for basketball and the deal played out just as it was described. Hopefully, this is the same.

100% of our games will still be televised (likely except unlv because it was scheduled late) all our fcs games were put on local tv..he never stated 100% of our games would be nationally televised ever.

he did say 90% of our games would be nationally televised but that was before tulsa decided they wanted to come a year early...it has gone down to 83-85%

See post #16. That's pasted directly from the current AAC website. The agreement was always designed for 12 teams (it even coverers the CCG--its not like adding Tulsa was unexpected--heck we had 11 at the time it was agreed to since we knew Navy was coming in 2015). The number was and always has been 90%.

that was the original press release from the original signing date that was never updated..
he has addressed this in like 8 interviews since then and the AAC offcial twitter has even tweeted the 80% number, someone even made a thread about not to long ago to talk about it

2014 is the first under The American's new TV contract, which provides for 80% of conference-controlled games on nat'l TV platforms
