Not Another Liberty Thread!!! Yep....
Not pushing Liberty, but the conference could do a lot worse. Take a look at this replay for their opening home game. Forget the opponent just look at the game day atmosphere and the facility. I have a hard time thinking there are many other possible candidates that bring this to the table. Can't speak for Missouri State, but I have been to EKU several times and they aren't in the same galaxy as this crowd. Have a hard time believing the Bears are either.

I cant ignore the opponent, seeing as though it is a D2 school that ran the ball for right at 400 yards. A D2 school that has been 2-9, 3-8 and 3-8 over the last three years mind you. They had far less success offensively the previous week against the Western Carolina Catamounts than they did Liberty. No thanks, Mo State, EKU, UMASS, NDSU.

The school, the founders, their teachings and beliefs are just too controversial to ever get the majority votes

The football product was concerning considering it was a notoriously awful D2 school.

We have had some Liberty posters say that football attendance is mandatory, as is three other weekly church/meetings. Not too hard to get some students at the game that way. Not saying you are pushing Liberty but when you start a thread about them it does seem that way. By the way, have been to some games at Eastern Kentucky and they had a great atmosphere at those. Maybe Kentucky was playing a huge SEC game a few miles away when you went to a game.

Football attendance is not mandatory lol. Hmm, not a bad idea though!

Would you be against adding BYU? How about Notre Dame? What makes Liberty so different?

A LOT better! In fact, I wouldn't be too broken up if we did worse.

Byu and Notre Dame have a winning tradition. Neither school was founded by Falwell. Two HUGE differences.

Love the religious tolerance of some people on this board. 03-puke

I think JMU or Liberty make sense for the SB to get into the VA market would be great. Liberty has one thing many schools don't have, the money & willingness to put into athletic programs. Maybe not the next team to make 12 but if you get rid of Idaho or New Mexico, those would be good pickups.

RE: Not Another Liberty Thread!!! Yep....
I can't wait till Oct 11th! But we have some big business the next 3 weeks leading up to it as well.

There is NO mandatory attendance. The students left early because it was Brevard. Should be better this week vs #24 Bryant and will be better for Richmond on 10/4. Yes we gave up too many yards.

No other school realistically on the table brings that crowd, atmosphere, tv production / package. By the way, I think LFSN may be televising the game from Boone as well. Not sure, but I heard they may.

We do have some work to do on the winning tradition. This year is setting up well for a good chance to right that ship. We shall see.
