MR thanks for that info. Obviously I wasn't aware of that background, and it's disappointing/embarrassing that Tulane would've insulted a major supporter that way. But not really surprising.

I had heard from different sources that the original pledge was never paid in full. I don't know if that information is accurate, but at least one source was in a position to know such things.

Tulane lost most of the CUSA games last year and won the bottom feeders even lower than Tulane like SWAC that he has scheduled for the last five years. Now we are moving up to the AAC with Memphis and U Conn. It is going to be a disaster. Fire Conroy. He cannot recruit blue chip players or coach. Any bets on the U Conn Tulane spread or odds?

Thank god we're in the American, because it's forcing us to play better teams. It'll either make him step up to the plate or make it blatantly obvious he needs to be replaced. We'll find out soon...

See Doh at SMU. I hope Tulane is watching. We used to lose $2,000,000 a year and we turned a $12,000,000 profit on basketball last year

RE: Tulane MBB schedule
Tulane has one of the worst men's basketball coaches in the nation,Conroy. He was hired after four great coaches turned down the Tulane job and hired by one of the worst AD's in the nation, Rick Dickson loved by former Tulane president Scott Cowen. He coached at the Citadel in a terrible conference with a losing record and Rick hired him and extended his contract through 2017. Conroy cannot recruit blue chip players or coach. Any decent player he gets leaves his program. Tulane needs a $1.5m coach like a young SMU Larry Brown type. The AAC is not happy with the Tulane coach and AD as they are drastically bringing down U Conn,Memphis's RPI by playing all SWAC schools down to nothing. Fire Conroy.
