What I Like about PJ Fleck
Quote from Drew's article today:

Quote:"It humbles you," Fleck said of the Nicholls State loss. "It humbles you very quickly, because you think you know where you're at and you think you know what your players can do and how they'll handle a situation and then you sit there and go, 'Well, must not have done that.' I think we're all taking accountability for that last year and it's helped us this year, especially the coaching staff. I've done things completely different than I did last year."

Fellas...he's learning. I am digging the staff's evolved approach this year. Accountability cannot be understated.

I feel like PJ and the OC are more prepared for gamedays so far as well. I couldn't stand our playcalling last year and I am really liking it (overall) so far this year.

GO. BRONCOS.

Lose to FCS once, shame on them. Lose to FCS twice? no.

He was and still is (I believe) the youngest head coach in FBS. I'd expect he would have a larger than normal learning curve. We're only two games into the season but they've shown improvement. Last year seemed like a lot of run-run-pass-punt.

You're seriously out to troll every thread. We can't talk about anything football related without you having an agenda.

Mods can you boot this DB stooge?

If Fleck has indeed learned from last year, good for him. And program.

Self-awareness and introspection are positives.

Leads to growth and improvement.

Just once could you add to the discussion. This is beyond getting old, tedious, or even a little game. It's bordering on weird. As if something isn't right in your life.

Please, this pales in comparison to your chip trolling with admitted multi id's.

I think your biggest concern is chips would get some ammo here to fight you with.

it bothers me how much they talk about him being 33 and so young and full of energy. I'm 33 and I can barely get out of bed in the morning. 03-nutkick <--- the yellow guy is me

I HATED the play calling last season. But after watching the first two games... You get the picture that it is all we could do. Thinking back to last year we had Corey Davis... and that was it. There were no other weapons. Fields/Chance would break off a long run here or there but they are so small that they would always get knocked down easily.

Now you have Davis/Braverman keeping the secondary honest and then mix in Franklin.... which then clears up even more guys to share the load on offense.

He doesn't know what he doesn't know.

In many fields this can be dangerous.

It will help him, because his enthusiasm and confidence won't waiver.

What makes no sense to me is how many "fans" love to rip him for losing, but then complain about how he will jump ship as soon as the program turns around.

I don't agree with his approach to some things, but the guy has a clear direction for how he wants to do things. Most importantly, the players seem to be buying in to what he's selling.

RE: What I Like about PJ Fleck
He said from the beginning that it was going to be a PROCESS and that the process was going to begin with changing culture and bringing in better players. His first year was rought with injuries and a lack of depth... 1-11 occured...

Now we see with just a little added talent and another year of continued commitment to his vision, we see some progress... We can actually watch our offense and be excited... our defense is making progress... slowly but also missing certain pieces that are going to be necessary going forward...

Can any of us honestly say things like he doesn't know what he doesn't know? Do we actually know what he doesn't know? This is where I get frustrated with those here who just blantantly don't like the guy because of his lack of pedigree... He's learning every day... but so is every other coach out there... i would bet most of the great coaches will tell you they never stop learning...

There wasn't an option like the "Andy Murray in hockey" that was willing to come here and coach our football team... we didn't have the options of making that splash... I like the reach. I think the added energy and excitement is encouraging. I just hope we keep trending upward!

Yup. It's easy.

And I'm not talking about football.

There is SO MUCH more to being a D1 head coach than X's and O's.

I hope he jumps ship when he turns it around. Really like the quotation marks around fans as if liking this guy is a requirement to be a fan.

He obviously knows a bit more about this so-called "doesn't know" from last year since this year he has really kept to himself.
