I'm more concerned with losing to Miami than I was before, I expected a "W" until I saw them tonight. I remember some people here saying that about Kelley at CMU before he completed the turnaround.

I think Martin had Miami looking good tonight, we'll see if that was a one off or not soon.

Their first loss to Marshall might not be that bad after seeing what they did to Akron tonight.

I don't see an easy game this year in the MAC except for maybe EMU... however we somehow find a way to screw that game up every year... You watch these games week in and week out and it's always a battle in this conference... I like the pieces we have on offense, and i just hope we can get healthier in the middle of our defense before the MAC schedule begins...

Watching EMU's defense today against MSU... we "should" own them... They are just plain confused out there... The TD's that MSU was scoring in the first half was as if EMU was playing with 8 guys on defense... MSU is good... but EMU is also THAT bad...

If you saw them play tonight, you would have seen a team making plays and not looking at all like a squad who could lose to an Eastern Kentucky team. I'd say he has them moving in the right direction, making progress. By November, they'll be a tough team to play in their house.

EMU was overwhelmed in a hurry. They didn't have a chance. I wouldn't base anything on that showing today.

No, we're saying Chuck Martin isn't a miracle worker.

Looked to me like you were trying to pick a fight.

He looked like he was doing a good job with Miami today. Four games into his tenure after inheriting a team that was horrid and winless last year, he has them competing and looking better. They lost by a TD today in a barnburner rival game on a neutral field, looked impressive doing it too. I really like that transfer QB too.

Only DB would try to detract attention away from a 2-1 start by talking about some other coach in the MAC that's 0-4 and stamping it as "progress."

Just STFU and at least pretend for one night you actually do support the program, and these kids.

Here's another thing... We aren't giving up yards on the ground like we did with impunity last year... Held another team to UNDER 100yds rushing total in a game... lost the turnover battle -1 and still dominated the game...

Here's a fun stat..

Murray state was -1 in turnovers to louisville... and +1 to WMU
Louisville total offense in that game: 603yds
Murray State total offense : 292

Todays game: WMU -1 in the turnover margin
WMU total yards: 605
Murray State: 305

I'd say we held our own with Murray state as well as Louisville... with an apparent hand held behind our back... :)

Remember before he was embarrassingly leading the Chuck Martin fan club during his 0-4 start he we was carrying on about what a great hire Paul Petrino was at Idaho despite his 1-11 inaugural season.

Nobody in the MAC is a gimmie.. we should all know that by now.. no matter what. Do I need to go back to the year 2000 when WMU took an 8-1 team to Mt. Pleasant and lost to a 1-8 CMU team?
