Esp when we play a CUSA school this week.
It's not difficult to understand. (Its even in the AUP)
Admit it, you miss this conference. You've posted here even when it wasn't AAC or Memphis related so don't even try to play "you talkin' bout us" card.
I still watch some CUSA games, and I even still root for teams like USM, UAB, and UTEP...that said, I don't mean it as an insult, but I'm glad we're not in CUSA simply because a hoops conference with UConn, Cincy, Memphis, Temple, Tulsa, Houston, etc is better for Memphis basketball, along with the ESPN exposure.
I agree up until you get to Tulsa and Houston. I would much rather be in a conference with those 4 schools, football be damned. It is what it is at this point though, but losing the Memphis basketball series was my least favorite part of realignment.
Tulsa returns their starting 5 from an NCAA team last season, and Frank Haith has big time experience at Miami and Mizzou...Kelvin Sampson will turn Houston around.
That's why I included them.
All of that means nothing right now though. The history of those two teams doesn't match that of the other 4. There is a chance that they could get there, but neither is there right now.

I have to disagree as Tulsa has a great foundation of tradition laid by guys like Nolan Richardson, Bill Self, and Tubby Smith. They made the Elite Eight in 2000, and the NCAAs last season. They also have a lot of returning talent, a solid coach, a nice facility, and a strong conference.
If I had to make a guess about 2014-2015:
UConn - NCAA
SMU - NCAA
Memphis - NCAA
Cincy - NCAA
Tulsa - NIT
Temple - NIT/CBI
Houston
UCF
ECU
USF
Tulane

Then you can argue Houston has one too I guess. I'm not saying Tulsa is garbage, I'm just saying they aren't what the other 4 teams are. Their rpi has been 70.
128, 118, 81, 68, 53, 94, 118, 203, 287, 195 going back about a decade. I think, like you, that they are headed in the right direction, I just don't think they are there yet. They basically had no great wins last year, and just a couple of good ones. I think your projections are about right. If you think Tulsa belongs in the same conversation as uconn cincy Memphis and temple, by all means include them. I just don't think they fit in that group.

Memphis is favored by 8 right now. Coming off a near upset of a the 11th ranked team 2 time zones away, followed by a bye week, the game will not be closer than 2 TDs.
I appreciate that the series has been heavily slanted in MTSU's favor lately, but times are changing. You guys barely escaped in your own house last season, when we were a 3 win team. This year, in our house, it will get ugly for you. See you Saturday.
I tried to tell you dummies.
