Wk 4: Lines in the Sand
Other than football, the big question this week is whether or not goldeneagle21 can maintain his narrow lead over other C-USA "pickers."

But football, it is, and there are 8 C-USA games on tap this week with 4 of those being against fellow G5 conference members. All games are on Saturday, this week.

There are clearly some challenges, but C-USA football is proving to be up to the task. So, here we go:

ESPN schedule of all C-USA games for week 4:
http://scores.espn.go.com/ncf/scoreboard...ekNumber=4

Saturday, September 20, 2014

Old Dominion @ Rice; 12:00 p.m. ET; Fox Sports NET
Marshall @ Akron; 2:00 ET; ESPN3
Nicholls State @ North Texas; 3:30 PM ET; Sinclair Network
Louisville @ FIU; 3:30 PM ET; Fox Sports 1
FAU @ Wyoming; 4:00 PM ET; Mountain West Network
Northwestern State @ LaTech; 7:00 PM ET
Appalachian State @ Southern Miss; 7:00 PM ET; Atlantic Sports Network
Middle Tennessee @ Memphis; 7:00 ET; ESPN3

Future Conference Mate
Charlotte @ Elon; 7:00 ET

Let's go get 'em C-USA!

RE: Wk 4: Lines in the Sand
Here are my picks for the week:

Old Dominion @ Rice; Yes, this the Monarch's first C-USA game, and while I think they have some offense, Rice is simply too strong.
Marshall @ Akron; But, this game worries me. Akron is trending up, and this is a road game. We need our "A" game.
Nicholls State @ North Texas; The Mean Green should bounce back nicely with this game.
Louisville @ FIU; I so want to pick the Panthers, but the Cards will be up after a loss to Virginia
FAU @ Wyoming; The Owls win this game at home, but in the mountains, the elevation will suck all the wind out of them
Northwestern State @ LaTech; NO reason to expect a let down against this in-state FCS foe.
Appalachian State @ Southern Miss; I don't expect this to be easy, but the Golden Eagles can, and should, win this game
Middle Tennessee @ Memphis; I really would like to see you beat the Tigers, but I think they have improved significantly. Prove me wrong!
Charlotte @ Elon; The Phoenix lost at home to NCA&T last week, and I'm not picking against the surging 49ers.

Old Dominion @ Rice 14-27 - Rice has too much quality for OD and is playing home
Marshall @ Akron 42-10 - Marshall "marshing on".
Nicholls State @ UNT 3-38 - UNT is angry and Nicholls State is in the way.
Louisville @ FIU 41-17 - FIU is improved but Louisville is just too big and strong
FAU @ Wyoming 28-26 - This could go either way.
Northwestern State @ LaTech 6-41 LT makes quick work of FCS foe.
Appalachian State @ Southern Miss 21-20 Could also go either way.
MTSU @ Memphis 24-17 - I think MTSU has offense strong enough to deal with Memphis.
Future Conference Mate
Charlotte @ Elon 26-7 Charlotte is 3-0, Elon is 0-2. That's all I know.

RE: Wk 4: Lines in the Sand
Old Dominion @ Rice - ODU might give them a scare, though.
Marshall @ Akron - Herd keeps feasting on the MAC.
Nicholls State @ North Texas - Please.
Louisville @ FIU - I'll buy and wear an FIU shirt for a day if Panthers win.
FAU @ Wyoming - Tough road game. FAU win would be great for Owls and C-USA
Northwestern State @ LaTech - Please.
Appalachian State @ Southern Miss - Prove me wrong, Eagles.
Middle Tennessee @ Memphis - Tigers looked good in that loss to UCLA 03-wink
Charlotte @ Elon - Sticking with the 49ers as long as they are winning.

FAU @ Wyoming
Northwestern State @ LaTech
Appalachian State @ Southern Miss
Middle Tennessee @ Memphis

The weather may be an issue in the FAU game but I'm going to stick with the Owls. The USM game worries me because App St is more than capable of beating the Eagles. The big game of the day, Memphis really is a better team and MTSU has had their number the last 5 of the 6 years they have played. I just think the conditions are perfect for the Tigers to win this game against the Raiders but I hope MTSU proves me wrong.
