4 different starters at Idaho
Did anyone else notice this?
I think Jarvion Franklin starting was pretty obvious, but no other changes on the offensive side of the ball.
Brant over Lewis (injury) at LB. 10 tackles and 1 PBU for him. Nice game.
DePalma is leading our team with 20 tackles right now. Still can't decide if that's a good or a bad thing.
Simpkins and Ash got starts over McKinney and Curle. Held Idaho to 45 rushing yards. Nice work.

DePalma can make plays every once in a while, but he's undersized and has terrible football IQ. Makes bad angles and stutter steps. His tackling is inconsistent as well. I hate that we have to rely on him. With Sylva hurt, Rolle suspended, and now Lewis potentially hurt....we're VERY thin at LB
And Spillane is even worse. Really wish we would have redshirted him. Every time he was on the field it was a disaster.

RE: 4 different starters at Idaho
We heard complaining about our corners and safety's yesterday, but a lot of that was really the LB's being late/slow in pass coverage, making the secondary look beat.
Running the ball like we do keeps the d off of the field, that's our hope. Very thin at linebacker, I think DePalma would be fine in a more limited, running down situation, second on a depth chart role.

Yeah. I thought DePalma performed best in the short-yardage, goal-line type formations where he can just plug the gap with his compact frame. Open-field though...yikes

He really shouldn't be out there then, not totally his fault.

It really isn't. But who else do we have? Walk-ons and true froshs.

Isn't Spillane elite?
