What I took from today's game
- Tough and long road trip but they seemed ready to play today. Came out of the gate very strong.

- Even though it was against a fellow 1 - 11 team, we looked much more polished and in sync than the Vandals.

- OL impressed me today.

- 5 sacks today by our D. Almost as many as all of last year in one game. My game ball goes to Cleveland Smith. 04-bow

- We now have hope that the corner can be turned this season. We will compete this year. I don't see us playing every freaking game from behind, like last year.

- NO TURNOVERS today. Well done, boys. That's the formula for success.

- Still have some concerns and once we face better competition, we'll see where we stand - defense and ZT.

All in all, a solid win. Have a fun trip home!

According to you bullethead, we didn't have good coaching, just "give the ball to Franklin".

Why yes, I do have some words about coaching. IMO, our OC did a nice job of mixing it up and attacking Idaho. Having some weapons helps but they executed.

Kudos to the DL coach. Sacks don't just happen.

Please, get us a special teams coach.

Now those aren't very nice words being uttered from your chubby cheeks. Enjoy the win for our program tonight and stop being so selfish. Besides, I win and you lose. G'night.

RE: What I took from today's game
I'm not overly impressed with anyone but NIU in the MAC right now. Through two weeks against FBS teams, I believe the Broncos have the weapons to be a MAC Championship calibre offense right now. We figure out some things (actually, a lot of things) on defense and special teams, and we may have a chance to steal one ahead of schedule this year. Need some heavy recruiting work to be done on the D side, but I can definitely envision very good things coming down the pipe from the Broncos.

Time for the community and students to do their part in the building of this program on Saturday, and for this football team to show their appreciation by putting on a show against Murray St.

Anything less than that will be a step backward.

NEW SPECIAL TEAMS COACH, PLEASE.

Offense looked great, defense was inconsistent, special teams was atrocious...

RE: What I took from today's game
If we run into a team with a good run defense (are there any out there?) in the MAC, we might have some issues because our D can't stop anyone who doesn't stop themselves. Facts are, all teams are flawed, it's part of college football. Except for Bama and Florida State.

Stop the run puts our receivers in a one on one. I like that match up. Would then like to see the TE slip out either a seam route or crossing route.

Also like our kicking game. One can be effective in scoring and the other in establishing field position.

It comes back to the DL and LB's outside of Brandt.

I didn't mean a team that has to stack the box to stop the run.

Wenger has been good for our DB's, he's a good recruiter and has a lot of good connections in Florida. Would hate to see him go. I just think Fleck needs to tighten up his role a bit, and hire a ST oriented guy like Gibboney was for us.

I think the OL and Franklin can get the job done if the box isn't loaded. I also think the kids up front like grating down hill. All good.

Scanlon looks good. Continued to put kicks out of the endzone, and made a text book tackle. Reminded me of John Potter. Phillips looked good on kick returns. Braverman needs to go a little more north and south.

Coverage was awful on both kicks and punts. Schroeder has a leg, but the cover team is so bad I'd rather he rugby punt everything.

Kickers B+
Coverage D

RE: What I took from today's game
We all need to remember that the team and staff had two weeks to prepare for this game. No wonder they were able to show some new wrinkles on offense.

Now, get a good game plan together for Murray State. You've got the week. Go.
