I've heard rumblings the Ken Dorsey is in line for the SMU position.

They need a life changer at SMU ...

I am thinking they look to Mark Hudspeth, who would be a home run hire i believe for them , Jake Spivatel but might be too young at 29, Philip Montgomery, Chad Morris, with outside shot being Larry Coker or Lincoln Riley......And those would be some very good canidates for them.....The World Is Ours Memphis....

On a related note, at the SHC I saw Timmy Chang is the Offensive Coordinator for Jackson State. He seems to have a goood coaching presence on the sideline. The play calling is just like those Hawaii teams though, almost all passing. Not sure if that really works or not.

Also, JSU's defensive coordinator is Derrick Burroughs. I wish we could hire him when the next position coach opens. I bet he would accept.

Right on cue, I saw an article the other day that the Big XII has no interest in adding any members in the foreseeable future. In fact they are running some pretty good ads right now with all of the football coaches talking about the Big XII and its "true championship" by playing a 9 game round robin schedule

They are printing money right now and don't see any reason to share it with two more schools. The only thing that could possibly motivate them to do otherwise is if the absence of a playoff game in their conference keeps them out of the Championship Playoff final four selection.

I agree, and if and when that happens they won't be looking for a team with our track record. It's a waste of time to even think it might be us until we get GOOD. I just hope they stay 10 until the time we might be a worthy look to them.

Absolutely right. I met a guy at a meeting a few weeks before football season who was two years out of SMU when everything went down. Told some great stories of cars, recruits and all kinds of things that weren't just at SMU but the entire SWC. A lot of the "boosters" weren't all that old, they might be middle 60s now.

Long story short, there is a lot of big money around to be thrown SMU's way.
