Did they come up with an alternative date to play the game yet?

I saw on ESPN or Fox sports on somewhere today that they aren't even talking about it until tomorrow.

Probably because of Idaho's flight schedule.

I think it would also be difficult to make a 24 hour turnaround on gameday operations when it's not somethiing they're really prepared for.

Pretty big difference between "no announcement before Wednesday" and "aren't even talking about it".
I assure you talks have been going on ever since the first major delay on Saturday. Parties include Florida, Idaho, the SEC, the SBC, ESPN, so this is going to take more than a day to sort out...

Trolling the Tennessee board, saw a thread that talk is that Florida wants Idaho to take a 7-0 forfeit in exchange for the full guarantee and additional cash.

To me that makes zero sense because then you will be refunding at the very least 3 million on tickets...75 to 80K X $40 and the average ticket is probably closer to $65

Be easier to give them another million to come back if they both have open dates that work

Oct 25 both team have bye weeks.
Florida will play nine straight weeks if they play that game going into the Georgia game.
Idaho not being bowl eligible makes the game less important.
I would like to see them play at the end of the season.
Giving us some extra practices.

End of the season sounds good, but imagine Florida might be involved in SEC championship
game they think. Which they are probably the only ones thinking that.

But they have to schedule like they will be. Their only solutions now are to play Thursday Dec 11th or Saturday Dec 13th after the season. No way they play Oct 25th. And if I was Idaho I would tell them no forfeit, no way.

Definitely. It's either a no-contest and the full amount, or they play the game and get travel costs for the second trip in addition to the full amount.

You would think remedies would be written into the original contract.

I would bet Florida will wait as long as possible to see if they need this game. Based on last year, they might.

This whole situation is bizarre.

I can't believe that someone along the way hasn't approached Florida or LSU with an offer that they would play early season and keep a mutual open date for a few bucks more in case weather knocked it out. Both schools have a history of needing to reschedule early season games.

Get an added premium and hope you don't have to pay off.

I think all the forfeit stuff is just fan talk - it would be crazy for anyone to expect that type of "W" to be considered for bowl eligibility, which I assume is why people think UF would want that.

UF (or Muschamp) NEEDS the win over UGA badly. This is the biggest issue with them playing Idaho that weekend before. But then again, If they really think that they can win that game with their third stringers, then I say.... "PLAY THEM". Let UF try to save their starters for uga.

But either way, I don't see Idaho forfeiting and I don't see UF not paying them. I'd think they would be required to either make a reasonable attempt to make good on the game (like using the common open weekend they both have.. which is really amazing that it exist) or pay them. Refunding the ticket sales AND paying Idaho is really no skin off the gator's back.

Game won't be played this year. Idaho gets full $975,000. Both teams will only play 11 games this year (though the people on twitter only sasy that about Florida cause I guess Idaho doesn't matter). Teams will schedule a future game in 2017.

Great deal for Idaho, terrible for Florida who loses a free win, and now must figure how to win 6 games given the schedule they have.

I was wanting this played because I selfishly wanted Idaho to have a cross country trip the week before they played AState.
