Cheers for Matt Rhule, Temple: After going 2-10 in his first season with the Owls, the 39-year-old former Western Carolina aide and his team went to Nashville on Thursday and ruined Derek Mason’s debut at Vanderbilt. The 37-7 rout came complete with seven takeaways and 559 yards total offense. A win in SEC territory doubled as an uplifting morale opener for the AAC.

Awesome, but we didn't have 559 yards of total offense. He added our total offense+passing yards. We had 352 yards of total offense. We went completely conservative at the end of the 3rd.

My hats off to Temple...gives me (and I imagine everyone else) a lot more hope at the depth of this conference which, when it comes down to it, is what we need. We've got to do everything and anything we can to fill up those bowl commitments. After all, ECU was supposed to play an AAC team in the B'o'B Bowl and ended up with at large Ohio.
