Stat of the Day
FCS teams went 2-44 against FBS teams on opening weekend. One of those was North Dakota State's demolition of Big 12 Patsy Iowa State.

Anyone want to guess which unfortunate school was the 2nd?

04-cheers04-cheers

Folks at AGS probably had a tough week this week. They had several "Ranked" FCS squads that lost pretty big at G5 schools.

Another stat of the day

TXST QB Tyler Jones currently ranked #2 in D1 football with a 95.1 rating.

Hey, you take what you get when you can.

I'm still keeping an eye on the FCS. The hero of the weekend was Western Carolina keeping South Florida honest. I've seem some really, really, really, really bad Western squads, so that is a damn good result for them.

See, now he can throw 3 interceptions against Illinois and still have a good average rating.

That's the magic of playing UAPB.

He would be number 1 if they would set some criteria...like say more than 3 pass attempts 01-wingedeagle

he was 21/25 for 278 yds & 4 TDs. No INTS.
Our ground game garnered 378 yds
backup QB was 4/5 41 yds

Oh I know. I was referring to the New Mexico QB who is number 1 in QBR. Also, to be more accurate the UNM QB was 3/5 for 36 yards and 0 TDs...

OK, OK, so I guess the head coach at TxSt has a picture of somebody from Sirius in bead with a teenage boy because he will be the weekly guest again this year on college sports.

He's still a name people recognize and he comes cheap.

And he is far enough along in his career where he doesn't have to use coach speak all the time. He can get all folksy and conspiratorial.
I like listening to Coach Fran on the air.
