Maybe, but they are very happy with him right now. Of course Kiffin and Dooley set them into freefall. He's also recruiting a lot of TN kids, which the other coach's didn't.

I wish Memphis would recruit Nashville. This area is pumping out studs and the best coach's are in Middle TN.

Butch Jones is a complex guy to put your finger around. He is a good recruiter and I think a good program builder, but he is not the type of coach that will "out-smart" another coach on gameday. In addition he and his staff are not very good at making in-game adjustments. The game plan the come up with prior to the game is what they will run with the rest of the day, come hell or high water.

He will win some games at TN, but he will also have a few "WTF" type losses where his decision making them the game. One of his Central Michigan teams won the MAC one year but lost to a bad Eastern Michigan team. At Cincy he beat Virginia Tech and lost to Toledo that same year (the play calling and a couple personnel moves cost them the game).

Serious. Who was the last big timer to come out a Nashville. I always thought west Tennessee had the best athletes. They just don't go to Memphis or utk lately
