RE: The Dreaded Attendance Thread
This year will be a wonderful year for attendance. Our home games are Miss St, GaSo, GaSt, Troy, Texas St and Navy. Texas St will probably be our lowest attended game of the season. And if we are 8-1, 7-2 when that gets here, it will be well attended as well.
This has been the season that most South fans have circled as being the season gain real traction in Mobile as being a college football presence.

Cajuns, how many did Southern bring? It is a good move to schedule local FCS if you can. Last year we had UAPB and although their team sucked, they brought about 3k. I think Montana State brought about 30.
about 6k,still 30,000 of your home crowd is great, add the 6,000 visitors and it turns amazing. Would have broken the record for most fans had it not rained for like 24 straight hours, but I think it's kind of impressive that we got as many as we did considering the weather because I know EVERYONE has issues for rain games. Next week I think we top 40,000. I wonder, what is the highest ever attended home game for any of our current membership. I know App draws like crazy.
A-state record is 31k vs MTSU in 2012. They brought about 2k. All of our big crowds are against regional foes that will travel a few hours. Memphis, UCA, even ULM. Of course we will probably hit record next year with Mizzou. This year will be hard with 3 of our games in November. If we could pull an upset on Tenn or Miami, we will get big crowd in a few weeks.
I'm counting out of conference too, whats the most yall have had at home (presumably for memphis). I ask because I legitimately think next saturday the cajuns might break an alltime record barring good weather. I can't wait to bury La Tech next week. Get to see a beautiful tarp drape coffin lowered to the ground.

That can't be good for GSU.
I'm not one to make excuses for Georgia State, but how many fans would show up for any of our games if we hadn't won a game in 2 years and opened on a Wednesday night?
I can't imagine Georgia State wouldn't have more fans this weekend against NMSU.
6100 now go away

Even thought South doesn't have a home game this week, our first home game is Miss St, we should see a 40k for that game. Especially if Miss St is ranked and we get a win at Kent this coming weekend.
I would rather have a local FCS then one from across the country due to them being able to bring in fans of their own. Just makes for a better experience.
ULM's stadium holds 30k. I think the rain before the game hurt attendance a little. I believe our ticket office was expecting about 25k.
It was also a Thursday night game. Anybody who lived more than two hours away and couldn't get time off from work wasn't going to be there. We knew Wake wasn't going to bring many fans. I was hoping for 3 thou more but it was a good crowd.

Says 31,500 or so MTSU, 30,500 or so for Memphis, and a couple of 30+ for ULM and UCA. I think this year we will average somewhere between 24 to 26. Next 2 games will be 26 or 27 plus and the last 3 games in November will depend on the weather. stAte will really start seeing the benefit in 2015 with all the revenue from the new boxes.
Also looking forward to Cajuns smoking Tech next week. Good luck.

Southern brought at the most 10K. I think many skipped the game from both sides because of the rain. Three people that were suppose to come with me didn't because of the rain.

The threat of rain, Labor Day weekend and an FCS opponent from the other side of the country= I am good with 26K.

I was let down by the attendance in San Marcos, but I kind of expected it given the lack of promotion by our athletic department.
With two weeks two go until the next game, it being military appreciation week, and a notable opponent, PLUS a dominating performance at home this weekend... I'm hoping to put us near 25k.

It is nice to be in a conference where people care about attendance and 8k is not considered a good crowd.

I got there late about 5 minutes after it started but when I walked in I was surprised when I saw nearly the entire lower portion of the stadium, besides the visitor section, full. I thought the announced number would've been higher. But then again the top half was mostly empty.
On a side note, I brought one of my friends and his dad, my old football coach, and they had fun. I think they might try to come to the Navy game.

Yea. I'm surprised they had 10,000 after two and a half years with no home wins. On a Wednesday night. Against a FCS team. On a game that was on TV.
If people want to dog Ga State, I think they should find something else. For comparison, the only other team to go on a comparable winless streak, Western Kentucky, managed a home crowd of 10,813 against Arkansas State at home and that game was at 3pm on a Saturday.
Heck if Ga State can pull out a home win versus NMSU, they'll be 2-0 and facing Air Force at home for the next game. That could result in a good crowd.

He just said that. Our top two crowds in history are MTSU and ULM in 2012. They passed all Memphis games.

Being that I'm now a troll according to some I may not want to post something positive and disrupt the understanding of me. But I will anyways; Georgia southern filled the fan section at Ncstate completely and flooded over a little, have a pic will post when I get from my brothers phone.

ULMost stadium is a lot more than 21K, but you know that is not a bad number for a midweek game, even if it is the first game of the season.
