I feel bad for Cincy
I can't imagine sitting out for 3 weeks. That's just awful.

Yes, thank you AAC for not allowing a scheduling adjustment.

Yeah that's gotta be pretty terrible. Can someone remind me what happened? Someone dropped out of a game right?

Part of that might be Cincinnati's quarter system--I was arguing on the internet with Cincy fans about attendance keeping them out of the Big 12, and the argument was that August/September games weren't a fair guage because students weren't back in school yet.

So we are supposed to cancel our OOC games to accommodate you?

We had Stony Brook scheduled for today. We dropped and paid Stony Brook so we could schedule Miami of fla as our 12th game. The Miami game takes place in the bye week (week 5). We had hoped that the league would work with our schedule and move a league game into the first two weeks and create a bye any other time during the season. They refused. It was a manageable problem with two or three potential scenarios, but the league was disinterested.

No. League games can be scheduled in the first and second week of the season.

I do not know off the top of my head, but the issue predates the new schedule. We had new teams join this year. This is hardly an unsolvable problem.

Cincinnati (along with Ohio State) moved to a semester system starting with the 2012-13 school year. School is already in session...07-coffee3

That's a lot of extra practice time B4 first game! It could be a big edgr over others. 07-coffee3

That is two years ago. UC like Ohio State moved to Semesters. BTW, this first two weeks without a game sucks big time.

Tulane and Tulsa had open spots. They could have given either of us the first week off and then scheduled the other with Cincy instead. We at least have a game scheduled in week 2

Yes, but if I recall correctly they will not have any byes throughout the season so that is a definite disadvantage.

UC has a bye before they play East Carolina on Thurs., Nov. 13 -- (game before that is on Fri. Oct 31 @Tulane so UC has 13 days not the full 14, but still)
