It's going to take time, UCONN will be back but they have a year or two to go. I just hope the fans and administration have patience.

No reason to believe UConn will not rebuild. I saw a team that just needs better players especially on the Dline. To me, more than anything Diaco needs to be a good recruiter and be able to attract some more talent to UConn.

I am pleased where this team is at he said, what do you think of that comment.? I giv him two years. Some people aren't cut out to be head coaches.

It's never easy making a transition not only in coaches but also in systems their running. I saw a team that played hard, kept themselves in the game after falling behind 28-7, and lost to a much older and more mature team. This season will see the Huskies win a few they're not expected to later in the year, and be on a mission for a bowl game next year.

I flipped back and forth between the Houston and UConn games last night. I saw more positive signs from UConn than Houston...take that for what its worth. I think Diaco will be a good coach, think he'll need to be an outstanding recruiter. His recruiting job got tougher with BC hiring Addazzio, who will undoubtedly be fighting for the same quality New England recruits. Must be tough for you because you root for both BC & UConn.

How many games do you think UConn will win this year?

The coach who's name reminds me of a sandwich, kind of left everything in shambles. I was surprised UConn kept it as competitive as they did. It'll take a couple years man.

Huge learning curve for a new head coach, especially a young one. I think moat new guys have a 50/50 chance of doing well. Did Uconn look at any current Head coach folkes during the coach sea4ch. I will say this, he is a pretty man and he seems to know it.

Justin Feunte and Memphis are a good model for UConn fans. The similarities are plentiful. A program suffering the ill-effects of their former coach; a good "up and coming" coach without experience at the helm; players faced with low self-esteem stemming from poor past performance; and players needing time to learn the 'new' system of their coach.

The lack of head-coaching experience of the coach means the new system is not set in stone. The coach will adjust his system as he gains knowledge from the 'school of hard knocks.' Speaking from firsthand experience, Diaco has his toughest critics in UConn fans who don't have a lot of experience at losing. They will be just as impatient as Memphis fans have proven to be.

Any signs of improvement in their first game are a compliment to the coaching staff. I suspect the Huskies will be just fine under Coach Diaco but it will be tough to keep faith for the next next couple years. Hang in there!

I think we still have a good chance to have a good year. We made a lot of mistakes vs BYU and going down by two touchdowns early put us in a hole from the start. I liked the ball movement from both Cochran and Whitmer. I liked what I saw out of Newsome and Merriner. I don't know why Diaco took Cochran out after that one drive down the field though and stalled our momentum. We had three wasted drives into the red zone. We have to score when we get those opportunities. I'm confident that we'll roll Stony Brook and we should be able to hang with Boise. I think BYU is a much better team than Boise. Army should also be a fairly easy win. I still like our chances to get to 6 wins.

I saw a team with pretty good talent and a competitive spirit just trying to learn how to win again. I think he's right to look forward. Recruiting the right people will be key and it looks like a team that has potential.

It is really only obvious by year 3 if the coach is decent. If they're bad you know right away. The first thing to look at is did they quit? No. They showed fight and spirit. That's what you build off of.

No offense, watched most of the BYU gamd and thought UConn played like ****. I was surprised because of how well they played the last few games of 2013 after Pasqualoni was canned. I wonder if it could be an issue of bringing in talent? I know UConn's been struggling recruiting. Maybe it's just tough to get recruits in NE excited about playing in the AAC. It's not a recruiting hotbed to begin with
