Great crowd.
Buzz about Johnny Air Raid.
Great chance to get the City and casusal fans excited.
and....
Coog'd It.
I'm generally anti-piling on in these situations, but "Coog'd it" is just funny as hell.
And believe me, if "Wave'd it" or "Tulane'd it" was a thing, we would have plenty of examples ourselves.
But something about "Coog'd it" just rolls off the tongue. And between this and the USM loss a few ago, you can't help but feel there's something tragic about being a UH fan.
Yep!
Could that be a snapshot from Coog Kings youth?

We have the talent, no question, this performance however clearly tells me Levine and his offensive coordinator Bush are way over their heads.
I'm not happy with the results.

That stadium name is so terrible. Hard to say and will always be the butt of jokes when you lose at home - TD ECU! TD - (insert school name here )!
UH will be tough in conference as usual. This game was tough loss

Oh no, how will we ever manage to cope?
We've got $15 mil reasons not to give a sh*t about those non-witty/creative (whatsoever) jabs about the name.

Just saying. Can you or any UH fan tell me what TDECU stand for?
I have no clue. Just sounds stupid. For a football stadium. For a team that plays ECU. GET A NICKNAME.

lol. The fact you never heard of them (I hadnt either btw) is exactly why they bought the stadium naming rights. I've always thought stadium naming rights make much more sense for companies you have never heard of than for companies that are already well known.

It's shameful either way. Don't be proud of the corporate naming rights sell out. It's a bad thing. The Big House will never be Ford Motor Company Stadium and Nile Kinnick Stadium will never be King Corn Inc Stadium. There's no difference between the "Yum Yum Arena", "Taco Bell Arena" and "Papa Johns Pizza Stadium" and the new credit union named Houston stadium. All the names suck and the fact that the universities sold out to businesses and lost naming rights to their own venues is disgraceful.

First of all, they're not forever (Carrier was a unique scenario). Second of all, if you have an opportunity to earn $15m off of it, why wouldn't you do it?
The scenario at ECU was slightly different in that the original name, Ficklen, was a dedication by the school. The name Dowdy was added in 1994 following a $1m donation. Hell of a deal to think it'll probably be named that forever for just a million bucks. Houston, UCF, etc. will make millions more and will have the ability to rename the stadiums once the rights expire.

RE: "Houston, we have a problem"
Serious question; who chooses to go to Tulsa? It's an expensive private school with a weak reputation. It's located in a city that is constantly being overshadowed by its neighbors (OKC and NW Arkansas). Worst yet, the state of Oklahoma sells near-beer because its citizens are too stupid to be trusted with the real stuff. Are you too dumb for OU? Too rich for Stillwater? Not thumper enough for ORU?

Is it that you (ECU) are not selling out or is it that no one wants to give you millions to attach their company name to your program?
