No, however the stadium was designed to be able to add a second deck to bring seating up to 42-45k.
Just for perspective. Texas A&M ran 99 plays last night. WKU ran 97 tonight.
President Ransdell knows MONEY...if you have it he will get part of it and with that any expansion before you are averaging 75% paid attendance it would be foolish to add more seats and lower the value of your current season tickets.
If the time comes and Western needs more seating there's no question in my mind the money will be there to add them. But first you need to make that ticket hard to get...once you get there then you will see seats added but not before.
Bigger isn't always better...money off tickets is the one thing we control and the donation that comes with it. You can expand to 30,000 seats and average 23k-25k and make less money than you can with 23,000 seats and average 18k-20k
If a person knows there will be a walk up ticket at every game it takes away the need to buy that season ticket.
With that...GREAT WIN by WKU tonight and while I'm a little upset at the missed tackles this is not a great game to judge overall defense. When a team lines up at the mark of the ball you can not switch packages or many blitzes. And it was hot, muggy and the humidity was a killer. So players were tired.
I said it before the season started and nothing I saw in this game changes what I said...Western will be top 2 in offense. Well one thing might change....
I think we could push that up a spot.
