RE: ACCESS BOWL COUNT DOWN -2014
I don't think that one loss will eliminate anyone. An AAC team might have 2 losses and still get the slot due to Temple beating an SEC school and I presume that other AAC teams are going to notch big OOC wins. The other G5's just will not have the big OOC victories to jump AAC teams.

I feel 1 loss would eliminate Marshall, but that's about it.

West Virginia and the the B-12 would vote for that.

Marshall loses 1 game and AAC is in. Pretty much guaranteed.

Thanks - will always follow Temple and the AAC. Have family and friends that graduated from there. Have a few friends that played football there. Finally still have one son at home who could end up there in 2 years when he starts looking at colleges down the road. Always try to take a game in there every year and grab a couple of Philly Cheese steaks too. The best trips there though are when the family vans have Temple and Rutgers Flags hanging on them and the college folding chairs are circled around the barbie and the beer cooler. Family time - PRICELESS. 04-cheers

Not so fast. Utah St. and Fresno St. have OOC schedules from which they could build a strong case to beat out the AAC champion. LA-Lafayette plays Ole Miss and Boise St., so they could still make some noise if they pulled off some upsets.

I know its good for us that they lost, but I was rooting for them last night. I will never root for a P5 against a G5.

I was also rooting for Boise because I wanted UCONN to give them their first loss.

I wonder if we are seeing the beginning of Boise St.'s decline back to reality. Chris Petersen was the main factor in Boise St.'s success the last decade, as offense coordinator then head coach.

However, although Boise is a smaller market, college football is King. So, its college football market is probably understated if you just look at population or TV households - similarities to Alabama market. But you have to wonder how long the BCS-Buster Effect will last.

The move not to come to the AAC may have sealed their fate.

I can see that. The American conference slate this season would have even more excitement if Boise St. and San Diego St. were in the mix! But, may be a blessing in disguise for the AAC?

I will. Every single time and twice on Sundays. I want every single G4 team to lose every game, AND for AAC to win every OOC game. This does many things. It reinforces the fact that the AAC is a power conference or "5+1" conference. It reinforces the fact that other G4's are below the AAC, it guarantees the AAC a spot in CFP/Access bowl, and it makes the Access bowl the de-facto auto bid.

Why others can't see this is beyond me.

I get your point. I really dislike Boise becuase they bailed, but last night I was just being practical. I figure if they beat a ranked team last night, and then tore through a weak MWC, we'd have zero chance at the BCS slot.

As Tony Soprano said... what's best for business.

If you look at the various threads with 'western dream' scenarios, lots of posters are not even including Boise. I've seen BYU, followed by some from among SDSU, Fresno, UNLV or colorado state multiple times... We'll see how Boise sustains, but I think the bloom is off their rose.
