UT Men's and Women's Cross Country 2014
The schedules for the men's and women's squads are practically identical, so I think one thread can cover both teams. Unless somebody objects. We can always create separate threads with some editing.

Competition starts on Friday (the 29th) for both the men and women, though as of now (Tuesday morning, the 26th) the schedule seems vague. All it says is "Toledo Home Opener".

The women's schedule can be found here -

And here's a link to the men's schedule:

More info's been released about UT's cross country openers (men and women) on Friday. Bowling Green and Eastern Michigan will meet the Rockets at Pearson Park.

UT women win the Mel Brodt Invitational at Bowling Green, and so do the UT men.

A little disappointed in our 8,9 and 10 but otherwise OK. Seriously, it looks like they're way ahead of last year. NSeven runners under 18.

Take away our seniors, and BG had better performances from runners who will be the futures of both programs. I'm not seeing a broad influx of new talent.

RE: UT Men's and Women's Cross Country 2014
UT women finish 9th (out of 20) at Notre Dame's Invitational. Looks like there was only one other MAC school in the field (Eastern Michigan) and the Rockets finished ahead of them.

Men 16th out of 22. Didn't see any other MAC schools listed in the men's field (though it's always possible I overlooked a team in both fields).

Here's a link.

Do they score men's races differently these days? Never seen anything like that.

Looks like the person who wrote the news release for UT looked at the wrong column when posting the points. If you want to, you can go to the link below and on page 6 of the document you'll see the list of teams. The column to the left of the team has the points. The points currently listed in the UT news release appear to have been taken from the column for the 7th runner participating for each school, which is the wrong column.

At least I think that's what happened.

UT women finish 18th in a meet at Wisconsin.

NCAA Pre-Nationals Meet is today (the 18th). In fact, some of the races are probably over already. Meet was scheduled to start at 11 am Eastern time.

Rockets finish last. Tough to compare courses but had the first teamers run here and finished with times they got at Wisky they would have been very competitive. EMU looked to be the class of the MAC at pre-nationals.

Here's a link to a recap of how the women's team did at the EMU Classic. I thought the UT men were going to be there too, but apparently they weren't (unless I've overlooked something again).

Here's a link to the results for both the women and the men. Apparently team scores weren't kept.

Men finished 8th in the league championship.

Women's conference title covered in the other thread (though the women's standings can be found at this link too)

Here's the link to the story about the day the men's squad had.

According to the popular college track and field website FloTrack, the Toledo women should qualify for the NCAAs if they finish 5th or 6th at the NCAA Regional Championships. Interestingly, Ohio State is also projected to make it to the meet and they are coached by UT Hall of Famer Sara Vergote.

In other news I saw on Coach Hadsell's twitter that his new radio show/podcast is a hit and he has been approached to be a syndicated talk show host on Saturday mornings in 100+ markets. Good to see him land on his feet in new career.

As someone else pointed out, I hope Coach Linh has been hitting the recruiting trail hard or the program will fall to middle of the MAC next year.
