Week 8 AAC Factoids

http://americanrx.blogspot.com/2017/10/w...toids.html

The weirdest to me is 3 conference games involve teams which have NEVER played before!

That really goes to show how young the AAC really is...

This week was HUGE for TV exposure for the American, and the teams on the field put on a good show, too!

Thanks, Mark. Appreciate the blurb.

"...Memphis now will enjoy a 2-week bye with a very real possibility that they will clinch the division before they ever play another game..."

But as a former statistics student, I would point out that even if SMU loses its next 2 games against UCF and Navy, they can still win the West.

Not likely, but mathematically possible. Not eliminated yet.

SMU would be 3-3 in the conference, coming in, and Memphis is 5-1. But SMU can still win...IF...

* SMU beats Memphis in Memphis...AND...

* SMU beats Tulane the nexrt week...AND...

* Memphis loses to ECU the next week.

SMU likely has to win 3 of its last 4 games (against UCF, at Navy, at Memphis, and Tulane), and definitely including beating Memphis. Unless Memphis can somehow lose to ECU at home. Then SMU only needs to beat Memphis plus one more.

Setting aside the fact that Memphis isn't likely to lose to ECU for just a moment, aren't you jumping the gun a bit on the UCF vs. SMU game?

Not sure I can trust a blog that fails to mention "The ConFLiCT," its storied history, and the missing trophy. Just sayin'.
