I appreciate the effort you spend on this but I have to inject a bit of reality here regarding ECU. The XII isn't changing their collective minds re ECU, another so called p5 isn't going to come calling, ie SEC, and certainly not the ACC. And there is likely a very slim chance if any that the AAC becomes a de facto power conference. That crap is a made up label that started in the press to start with and has no real meaning other than that those 5 conferences have a monopoly on the playoff and national championship. I appreciate the fact that a g5 can get a NY6 bowl but that is nothing but a scrap bone thrown to the stray dog to keep the courts from becoming involved. Looking at it it seems that the p5's lawyers got together and added that to keep them from being sued. And I don't see that situation changing.

Nice blog though. And again, as a Pirate fan I appreciate the effort and interest.

Please don't use U. Houston. Exclusively use Universidad H. Please. The school is trying real hard to be diverse.

Exclamation RE: new AmericanRx blog
Today: American vs Big XII football - closer than you think!

By ESPN's own estimates, the AAC is closer to the Big XII than it is to the next best G5 league, the Mountain West. What's more, the Big XII is closer to the AAC than it is to the 4th best P5, the Pac-12. Therefore, any teams poached by the Big XII would be making a roughly lateral move -- albeit presumably for more money.

I still believe the AAC could fetch $10 - $12 mil ea., no current member departing elsewhere of course.

1. "no current member departing" - seems more likely every day
2. "AAC could fetch $10 - $12 mil ea." - sounds reasonable, IMO.
