ULL isn't getting an invite to CUSA, AAC (or Big 12)

I don't believe the Big 12 is better than the Big10 or ACC, and I don't believe the AAC is that much better than the MWC, C-USA, or the MAC. I can't wait until we actually start playing the games.

If Marshall loses, our highest pin to the polls plummets and we'll slide down this power list.

If Marshall loses to Miami Ohio, than Marshall and this conference will have worse problems than these silly rankings. Miami (OH) was terrible last season. Marshall needs to take them behind the woodshed and make a statement.

You're only as good as your best program? Anyone else been mentioned by ANY other media source to be a talking point to get enough votes to be near any poll? Not that I've heard of and even with Marshall we've heard the weak schedule in the next breath... so if they fall, I think it's better luck next year for the conference hopes!

I picked Rice to beat ND. Just saying. Anything can happen on any given day. With all the new people at Miami and our penchant for playing bad on the road, this game concerns me greatly. We do need to make a statement and win big or some of our fans need to shut the hell up.

Same can be said for almost any G5 conference.

Sun Belt has UL getting some votes, but nobody else really has much chance of getting into the polls.

MAC doesn't really have anyone that I know of that is expected to be top 25 worthy this year.

I don't really know anything at all about the MWC. I'm sure Boise and Fresno will be solid teams though.

AAC has UCF, Cinci, and ECU, so they're definitely in a much better position than other G5 conferences this year.

UAB needs to beat Troy
Marshall needs to throttle Miami, Ohio, and Akron
WKU needs to upset Bowling Green

And win any other games vs the MAC, Sun Belt, any reasonable P5 team, and at least have a good showing against any top tier P5 program....

Just because you're not getting preseason buzz doesn't mean you're locked out of the polls for the entire season. Honestly CUSA would be better off if someone other than Marshall rose to the top because everyone else has opportunities for quality non-conference wins.

MT versus Minnesota is a "need to win" game. Also MT versus Memphis... I will sink into a hole if we lose to the Tigers. We've blasted them so many times even a close game will hurt.

You miss the point, or else I am not clear. What happens to our conference rating if marshall loses AND Rice wins and/or UNT wins? It does not rest solely on Marshall unless all the others play down to expectations.

Correct and I personally hope Marshall loses 2 maybe 3 games all in the conference . If Western takes care of business that's better for my school or any school competing against them for the eastern championship than to see Marshall in the top 25.

The likelihood of any of us going undefeated is a long shot but it's just as good for the conference for any of us to go 12-0 or 11-1 as it is for Marshall.

When I look at Western's schedule I don't see one game that is a 75% or greater sure loss. There are 3 I would list as 60 to 70% those being Marshall, Navy and Illinois . But still all 3 are winnable and it's better for the conference if we all scheduled winnable games...

on the flip-side I only see 3 games where I give Western a 70% or above of winning. But I consider that a great schedule to get noticed. Of course wins must happen for that to take place.
