Below is WKU's Smith Stadium. GO Tops! Go CSUA!
As loud as I ever heard the Houch was this game especially the last 5 minutes...
couldn't hear the person next to you (get a ideal of how loud in this video...x about 5). Then ULM scores late and goes and makes the 2 point conversion to get the win. The noise went from 100 to 0 in 2 seconds. Been to every place in the SBC and the noise at this game has not been matched
First "home" game for UAB is usually high energy if not high attendance. The majority of us hate the venue we're forced to play in (Legion Field) and for damn good reason. Our so called governing body knows this and systematically prevented UAB from building a smaller but far more modern football stadium on campus. Attendance would have skyrocketed of this I'm sure. I was ready to commit to season tickets for the 1st 5 years of it being built had the (bleep)holes not sabotaged the proposal in November of 2011. Fan base was outraged & devastated but has been able to do much of nothing about it. Still trying to recover from this major setback as well.
City of Birmingham ought to be ashamed to still be trying to use this as a place to showcase football of any kind in this day and age after other cities have already built, torn down and built venues anew, they're still talking about a multi-purpose facility that can accommodate football, but that's been on the lips of these "leaders" since 1998, and not so much as a brick has been laid on constructing it. They had a ground breaking though about 3 years ago. Program's going to need a miracle...Winning games even in substandard conditions could make a small difference, and many of us are hoping that Bill Clark has the magic formula for success with this football team. Should be a decent crowd for the opening game against Troy, but if UAB fails to win that game, it's not likely to see a crowd the size of who may turn out for the Troy game in there for the rest of the season unless the Blazers can bounce back and go on a tear for most of the regular season. I'll be surprised if anyone who follows UAB football will post a video of any kind here unless the place is packed, because, in all honesty, many of us view Legion Field as a major, major embarrassment to our team, to the sport of football and this city.
Best time I have ever had at a football game. Period. Never been to a game with more energy or excitement.
Its sad but there isn't even one team left in cbelt that generates any interest at all in our fan base. Thankfully there is a light at the end of this tunnel, will be nice to sit in those crowds of up to 35,000 again but patience is a virtue.
