Interesting assessment, though I'm sorta confused at how Rice is placed #2 on their list.

He's got a somewhat complex system of how he ranks each stadium. Recent home win percentage and attendance relative to stadium size seem to carry a lot of weight.

You will get a kick out of his comments about watching 12 games at one time and gauging crowd noise. That one requires faith in Phil.

I am too. After all, according to those in the know, our crowds are imaginary.

His system of ranking has pretty much nothing to do with in-game atmosphere and advantage... Just stats...

Phil tries to do too much, smh

Why are you posting here since you care nothing about the CUSA and are continually dissing the conference ? Go home to your beloved Belt.

Phil Steele's C-USA Home Field Advantage Ranking
Looking at the top 2 on the list (Rice and Marshall) I'd say it was based on how much better the teams play at home (vs on the road).
So it could be best home field advantage, or it could also be thought of as who plays worst on the road :/

Either way - we'll take it. But Rice and Marshall have not lost many at home lately.

I enjoy reading Cajun's posts. I'd rather catch fire and be attacked by rabid squirrels than read the dreck that emanates from ECU fans.
Let's keep Cajun...

Your choice. He disses CUSA every chance he gets then post here. If it's OK with you, fine............your opinion..... I think he should stay on his beloved Belt board.

I don't think the issue is with the Cajuns in general but rather this particular poster who constantly attacks CUSA on the SB board then comes here as if its all good. He's made it very clear how little he thinks of CUSA yet he's always lurking our board.

I can honestly say that I have never visited the Belt board or the board of any Belt team.

I can say that Marshall plays very well at home. It's tough to beat us there. On the flip side, we are just as inept on the road sometimes. ugh!

Occasionally, just as you are here. Something wrong ? I don;'t diss the Belt then try to post as if all is ok.

IIRC, Marshall had the biggest home/road differential in the country last year.

I agree with this....WKU usually always loses conf. games at home we should not, I cannot remember the last time we even won at Homecoming. So UTEP you have a good chance to get a road victory Nov. 8th...Hopefully with new conf. our home woes will not be as great.

This plus Nov. games if temp is below 50 degrees, fine folks in BG stay home....3 Nov. games this season, here is to hoping unseasonably warm weather for BG!

It shouldn't be a huge shock about UNT being up there. If you look at their home/road splits since the new stadium opened, it is pretty evident. It sis almost shocking how much UNT has improved at home, but some of the away numbers should be discounted due to the body bag games.
