My tinfoil hat theory of Espn vs AAC.
I believe that commentators and the rest of the talking heads on Espn constantly speak terribly about our conference and devalue our product so that they devalue the contract so they have to pay us less. I was watching cbs college football and the only G5 conference they spoke of, CUSA. The conference that they have tv contract with. Espn on the other hand has no interest in promoting us at all. I don't think it's coincidental that the UCF penn state game that is threatened by the volcano, was referenced by their site as 'penn state game in trouble'.

I thought you were gonna say that ESPN was causing the volcano to potentially erupt...

Ehh, I think that if USC were playing Baylor or Minnesota or Georgia Tech at a neutral site with weather/volcano/monster attack issues, the chyron would say "USC Game Threatened by Sharknado"

Same subject different thread. ESPN did the same thing to the Big East for years. To them this is still the Old Big East. A product they can pay pennies for and use as FILLER if one of their major conferences attempts to play hardball and pull games.

Face it, we're just chopped liver hanging out on the bottom tray of the refrigerator while Steak and Prime Rib take up the top shelves. 07-coffee3

It's possible.

It's well-known that the government has giant fans circling the Atlantic in order to blow hurricanes to Cuba.

Everyone (at least most) think ESPN does a disservice to them. I can tell you Big Ten fans are no fans of the coverage from the one air talent.

It depends on the program…. I was watching the College GameDay Season Preview show yesterday and two out three analysts picked UCF to be the top G5 program (the other analyst picked Marshall).....

I watched that too. They spent literally like 4 minutes of an hour long program discussing the entire G5 which was limited to who they thought was going to the access bowl.

WHA???????

Everyone knows we're going to get a HUGE contract bump the next time around. Haven't you been watching these pages? ESPN is just waiting with a dump-truck of cash for us...

I also noticed that they said absolutely nothing about Purdue, Illinois, Indiana, Wake Forest, Syracuse, Boston College, NC State, Washington St., Colorado, or Kansas football teams.

The emphases on the show were the likely candidates for the CFP and the Heisman Trophy winner - where no G5 teams or players are really likely candidates - or the above-mentioned P5 teams and players.

Even with that said, the G5-fan viewers probably make up around 15% of the audience, so 4 minutes - about 10% of the 42 minutes (without commercials) - isn't so bad.
