Keep in mind that recruits are very aware of which conferences are churning out NFL talent. They also keep close tabs on positions at certain schools and how many of their players ultimately make it to the NFL.

WE need to keep reminding everyone that the American wins on the field/court, has exposure in some of the largest markets, and can prepare recruits for the pros.

Highlighting Blake Bortles, the #1 QB taken in the draft, was a great idea.

lame...so what, Aresco buys ad in a newspaper.

1. newspaper is dying breed.
2. an add in the newspaper proves zero

I see this as a waste of money

It's only about $5,000 for that AD. Would rather see ads on ESPN or give members money to advertise in local papers

I think if we flood the media with the "Power" comments it starts to stick. People laughed when Michael Jackson first started the king of pop term for himself. After a few years it was always used before saying his name.

C'mon Bearcats... Mike Aresco is attempting everything and anything to turn heads toward AAC's direction... If no efforts were made from him, I'll be one unhappy/angry member.

This is a darn good league and never should of been placed with the other G4's to begin with.

I see this attempt to diminish a positive action as the final piece of conclusive proof that you are either a troll or a moron. Millions of people read USA Today every day, especially business people during the work week. Nobody said it "proved" anything - only that it is important to let the public know all the facts which are clearly on our side.

Two important principles of propaganda:

(1) Repeat anything often enough and becomes accepted as truth
(2) The most effective propaganda is that which is mixed with truth

"Propaganda-wise", Aresco has a relatively easy task, because he is pushing truth instead of lies. I say keep hammering the message home relentlessly with every means at our disposal!

This. There are actually some very good experiments in social psychology that support the "fake till your make it" strategy. If you keep saying it enough, it will stick eventually. The question is however, how many times do we have to say it?

RE: AAC runs same full-page ad in USA TODAY
Well the conference office is doing their part, now the programs have to continue to do their part. As long as those two marry up and march in lock step this "propaganda" campaign can/ will be successful. The conference is fighting from a position of strength because of the success of the inaugural season, we've got the high ground so to speak so it's easier to keep pounding the opposition. They aren't trying to create a narrative out of whole cloth, they have real material to fight with. There will always be naysayers, the successful in life learn to block out their white noise and continue working their plan. And to the point made in an earlier post about USA Today being ubiquitous, it is. Every hotel I stay in around the country has USA Today, usually right next to the Wall Street Journal. In my humble opinion this is money well spent as most guys at least browse the sports section so at the very least they'll see it even if they don't read it. That's an important subconscious imprint. Cheers Mr. Aresco. 04-cheers
