RE: The Greatest Program Of All-Time and others rankings
That is bs, just as polls rating teams are bs. This norhing more than a ranking of people's opinions from 1935-present. With little to no context as it relates to today. Many in the top 100 are no longer in the top division, others don't even field teams anymore.

Which negates their accomplishments how?
I kinda see your point, I can't believe they have Miami at 71. WFI

That's Miami of Ohio, i.e., Miami U. The University of Miami, the one in Florida, is #14.

I was hoping we could get past Pacific...but looks like a tie was the best we could do. Not sure we'll ever catch Great Lakes. Always feels like we are on their heels. Oh well...

Have to finish ranked at some point in history. I can understand UConn and USF to some extent since they've only been at the highest level of football for less than 15 years.
But Memphis, wow! I guess to some extent you got screwed in 1963 since you were top 15 in the Coaches poll, but the AP only ranked the top 10 around then. Based on Others Receiving Votes, you would have made it that year.
Sad that Memphis has only been ranked in the AP 1 week in their entire history, and fell out the next week AFTER WINNING by double digits. They would have dropped out the next week anyway since they lost to UAB.

Don't cut USF much slack. We've been in Division 1-A only about 5 years longer than they have and we've managed to finish ranked a few times.

I know, that's why I put WFI (wait for it). I was just trolling.

I can give you examples of injustices we have suffered all day long. For example, one year (1987), we beat Ole Miss and Alabama, but soon after, when Ole Miss beat Alabama, they were ranked in the AP as we were nowhere to be seen though we had identical records. By the way, I wonder how many old Cougar fans remember our great 14-13 upset of your #11 team in 1966 in the "AstroDome" (a marvel of the time)?
Though some Tiger fans are worried about autonomy, "cartel 5" separation, etc., I say in many ways, Memphis has never had it so good. We now have recruiting advantages, income, TV exposure and bowl opportunities that we never dreamed of.
