He tweeted a truncated version of this, then gets accused of bashing and being too "sunny" by two different people in responses.

The three "bashers" are at least representative of the Memphis fan base --- a white guy, a black guy, and a cartoon character.

Ok...I'm leaning towards not taking him in even if he's hurt. But my self image might suffer.
