I guess this is newsworthy, though it doesn't seem like it's worthy of a new thread. The first link below is to the NIU site, but I suppose this is newsworthy because I first saw it mentioned on the CBS Sports website. That link is below too. The "big" news: NIU has announced what its home field will look like in 2015.

UMass building its schedule for 2016, when it's no longer in the MAC for football. Hosts Tulane that year, with the Minutemen scheduled to play at Tulane in 2022.

A 3-game series between UMass and Mississippi State has been announced. If you read the comments at the end of the story (the link is below), you'll see some sarcastic comments about a team from the SEC playing a non-conference game north of the Mason-Dixon line (not surprisingly, two of the games are at Mississippi State).

To any staff member of a team from the SEC reading this post: 03-lmfao

I'm sure Mike O'Brien and Coach Campbell would be more than willing to have you come to the Glass Bowl. 05-stirthepot

Edit: this is about the traditional SEC schools (I know Missouri just visited the Glass Bowl). But for one of the original conference members to go north to play is unusual.

Vandy, an original SEC member, has traveled to schools like UConn, Northwestern, and Army recently. I always thought the "Dores would be a good 1-1 for the Rockets.
