You guys need a new press box. Bad. Is that in the plans? Looks like I see scaffolding for renovations.

Press box is also part of Phase 1

I went back and looked at all the press releases and from everything I see the phase 1 expenditure estimate was about $20 million, and that included the bowling of the south end zone and the small seat addition to the northwest corner of the west sideline, the new track/soccer building, and the Athletic Performance Center. I'm pretty sure there is no budget for an upper any additional work under the phase 1 budget. I know from today's groundbreaking that they expect to have the APC finished about this time next year. I didn't see anything about the track/soccer facility released today.

I was talking about the different Phases for the Cajun Field expansion plan only.
Not the Phases for the entire Master Plan of all facilities. The Cajun Field expansion plans shows the order/Phases that Cajun Field only will be expanded, it will be done in 5 Phases when the Budget is available for each part of each Phase, which to me means that they will finish all parts of Phase1 of the Cajun Field expansion before moving to the next Phase listed in the Cajun Field expansion PDF document, Phase 2 of the Cajun Field expansion plan and so on. See post #18 in this thread to see the outline of the different Phases for expanding Cajun Field only.

According to the Cajun Field expansion plan listed in the Cajun Field expansion PDF document. An East sideline upper deck is part of Phase 1 of the Cajun Field expansion plan when the budget is there for either Option, which means that they will build an East sideline upper deck before they bowl in the North endzone which is listed in Phase 2 of the Cajun Field expansion. I could be wrong but that's the way I read the Cajun Field expansion plan. Not the Master Plan of the renovation of all the facilities listed in the Master Plan but just Cajun Field.

Some folks don't agree, but I'm a fan of leaving the north end zone grass as long as possible.

I does make it nice especially so kids don't have to sit still for 3hrs, but bowling in the South endzone sure transformed Cajun Field into looking more like a College Stadium instead of a High School stadium. It's time to take advantage of our sucess while the donators have their pocket books wide open.

Around 18K students. Additionally the school started raising admission standards about ten years ago stunting growth.. In that time a multi parish (county) JUCO has been instituted. Pretty sure you will see UL breach 24K before 2020.

The JUCO is doing a great job of preparing students, and frankly many students are finding UL a better and better educational value. UL is the lowest cost university in the state, yet delivers some of the most impressive performance in computer science, accounting, nursing, pre med, pre law, all engineering degrees, education degrees, just to name a few.

Now that our athletics are providing better enjoyment, there really is no reason to spend more to get less elsewhere.

New look at the south endzone. Don't think we could add permanent seat backs on the away-side because it wouldn't comply with new code regulations, so they're giving season ticket holders temporary seat backs for the season. Guess they're just setting them out and making sure everyone who ordered season tickets on that side has a seat, and they all fit.

You can see the bell tower between the concessions. I believe they're going to fasten a big fleur-des-lis decorative panel on it, and hang a bell.

What will the ringing of the bell symbolize? (If anything)

Not sure. I know for the past few seasons they're played piped in bell sounds for 3rd downs when we're playing defense. If we have a bell, and they still decide to use the piped in bell via speakers - I'd lol

I'm not sure if my brain is making this up, but I've heard it referenced by a few people as the "victory bell." So maybe they'll ring that sucker when we win?
