RE: Wk 1: C-USA; Lines in the Sand (Formerly "My Lines, Your Lines")
Bowling Green @ Western Kentucky.....Bowling Green has a history of being tough over the years, but the Toppers win this one at home by a 38-29 score.

USTA @ Houston....The Cougars are tough at home, but USTA shows what the next upcoming team in the nation can do......USTA by a nose, 29 - 28

Troy at UAB....The Blazers were the only team to get beat by Southern Miss last year. The trend continues for them as Troy rolls 48 - 28.

FAU @ Nebraska.....The Huskers by alot, 52-21.

Marshall @ Miami (OH)..... Miami quiets the BCS talks by Marshall with a 28-24 upset.

Rice @ Notre Dame.......The Owls take the Irish to the wire but lose 35-31.

Louisiana Tech @ Oklahoma........The Bulldogs are better this year, but not in Oklahoma's league. The Sooners 45-24.

Bethune-Cookman @ FIU......FIU wins 41-20.

Savannah St. @ MSTU.......MTSU wins 52-10

Southern Miss @ Mississippi State......My team will be better this year, but the Bulldogs are too much for us this year. MSU wins 35-17.

North Texas @ Texas....Longhorns in a squeaker 29-24.

UTEP @ New Mexico... Hard to pick this one, but the Lobos in a close one at home.....42-38.

Charlotte @ Campbell....a coin flip has Charlotte by 28-21.

Hampton @ ODU.......ODU by alot, 45-7

With 23 posters, the consensus picks for this week's games, thus far are:

Western Kentucky (12 votes to 11 for Bowling Green)
Houston (18 -5 over UTSA)
UAB (19-4 over Troy)
Nebraska (22-1 over FAU, with one voter calling for an upset.)
Marshall (22-1 over Miami -OH, with mighty thanks to our one pot stirrer..Yeah, I caught that! Good for you!)
ODU (23-0 over Hampton)
Notre Dame (19-4 over Rice, the dismissals of ND starters had an affect on some)
Oklahoma (23-0. Seems no one gave LaTech any chance)
FIU (15-8 over Bethune-Cookman)
Mississippi State (23-0, over Southern Miss)
Texas (18-4, over North Texas)
New Mexico (13-10, over UTEP, with almost all saying close, tough game)
Charlotte (20-0, over Campbell...not everyone voted)

Consensus picks for C-USA through today is 6-7, plus a win for Charlotte.

I've kept your votes on a spread sheet and hope to be able to tell you who our best prognosticator was...if it doesn't take too much time. That might be fun to watch over the season.)

Thanks for doing this, always fun to try to predict these game!

Bowling Green @ Western Kentucky: Hilltoppers roll 31-21, that red blob rubs his belly so much he gets a rash you can't see.

UTSA @ Houston: Roadrunners in a squeaker 30-27 but Houston goes on to win the AAC.

Troy @ UAB: Can't honestly pick UAB here because I don't know what they put on the field Troy wins 20-13. I hope I'm wrong.

FAU @ Nebraska: Cornf#ckers plow their way to a 38-20 win but continue to live in 1994. Hope they choke on their GMOs.

Marshall @ Miami (OH): Even though they are the wrong green, the Herd stampede to 59-28 win over the fighting Ben Rapethlisberger's

Hampton @ ODU: ODU big 45-10, Kenny Gattison streaks on the field as he has turned to bath salts. A fall from grace.

Rice @ Notre Dame: ND wins 31-17 but "Play Like a Tutor Did Your Homework" becomes their motto. Rice wins the academic battle.

LaTech @ Oklahoma: Sooner...Booner...Hooner..or what gay ass saying they have, Oklahoma wins 56-17. Fracking destroys the states drinking water 6 months later.

Bethune-Cookman @ FIU: Golden Sex Panthers win 24-14, 60% of the time it works all the time.

Savannah St. @ Middle Tennessee: MT rolls here 59-10 and I'll go ahead be honest...screwed around with an MT chick for awhile and she was hot. My predictions for them will be bias sometimes as I grew fond of them watching games after intercourse.

Southern Miss @ Mississippi St.: USM getting back to their old form is best for the conference but they lose here 41-23. If they lose to Crapp State on Sept. 20th they become my least favorite team .

North Texas @ Texas: Texas wins 31-20, Mean Green are still on the rise and the loss will help build confidence. Has anyone mentioned that weird winged shaped section in your stadium?

UTEP @ New Mexico: Charlotte's pick axe brethren win 31-24, handjobs on the hill for everyone at the next home game.

Charlotte @ Campbell: Campbell tried to schedule this one as close to hump day as possible...won't help. Niners "shake that axe" to a 56-13 win.

CUSA goes 7-6 in Week 1 and Charlotte adds a win outside the conference. My state of inebriation this weekend (scale of 1-10 and including Thursday night)...13.

I don't know how accurate your picks are, personally I think they are 1 to 2 off, but they were definitely the most entertaining to read.

Drugs are bad M-kay.

Looking forward to the rematch with Mississippi Southern. This time with a real coach.

MY LINE: BG 31-27. I think this will be a tight one.

UTSA @ Houston; 9:00 ET; ESPNU
MY LINE: Houston 31-23 Houston could be in for a surprise. If UTSA comes in with their minds right and Houston is all jazzed up for the home opener in their new digs.... could be a upset
http://csnbbs.com/thread-697404.html

Saturday, August 30
Troy @ UAB; 12:00 ET
MY LINE: UAB 27-23 I'm giving UAB the @ home push in this game. It was a OT thriller last year @ Troy.

FAU @ Nebraska; 3:30 ET; Big Ten Network
MY LINE: Nebraska 35-21 @ Nebraska is giving them the edge. FAU got hot in the second half of last season and started to look good. I think that will translate to this year but a W @ Nebrask in week 1 might be too much to pull off.

Marshall @ Miami (OH); 3:30 ET; ESPN3
MY LINE: Marshall 45-13 This game should not be close unless Marshall's road woes continue.

Hampton @ ODU; 3:30 ET
MY LINE: ODU 45-14 This game should not be close especially since ODU is hosting. The side story will be how does ODU do with "incoming FBS talent" versus a FCS team.

Rice @ Notre Dame; 3:30 ET; NBC
MY LINE: Notre Dame 28-21. Notre Dame should win at home BUT Rice is coming off a stellar year and appear to moving back up the ladder. Just not sure if Rice is ready to pull of the upset @ ND.

LaTech @ Oklahoma; 7:00 ET
MY LINE: OU 45-17 There is no way La Tech wins. I guess Skip finally gets to play that @ OU game 05-stirthepot (only ECU fans, if they read this, will get it )

Bethune-Cookman @ FIU; 7:00 ET
MY LINE: BC 27-10 FIU will have to show me something I can believe in before I pick them to win. FWIW, BC won last year @ FIU 34-13

Savannah St. @ Middle Tennessee; 7:00 ET
MY LINE: MTSU 27- 13 MTSU should not lose this one.

Southern Miss @ Mississippi St.; 7:30 ET; SEC Network
MY LINE: Miss St 31-17 IF USM hadn't had the track record they have over the last two years I could make this spread tighter but I can't see USM making this close or winning.

North Texas @ Texas; 8:00 ET; Longhorn Network
MY LINE: Texas 37-20. UNT was surprise team last year and did very well for itself. But this game is @ Texas so... IF UNT has a shot its breaking in that new Texas coach for coaching stress @ Texas versus what he had to deal with at Louisville.

UTEP @ New Mexico; 8:00 ET
MY LINE: New Mexico 27-20. UTEP still not there yet.

And for our future Conference mate:
ESPN Tracking: http://scores.espn.go.com/ncf/scoreboard...ekNumber=1

Thursday, August 28
Charlotte @ Campbell; 7:00 ET
MY LINE: Charlotte 45-10 I mean, if Charlotte can romp them in Charlotte 52-7 then @ Campbell should be a tighter game04-cheers
REALITY SAID: Charlotte 33-9 LULZ

Had to at least do Week One for old times sake LOL.

Charlotte took care of business.

That would be both the most points SSU has scored against a FBS program(by nearly double) and the fewest points allowed to a FBS program(also by nearly double)

2012 Oklahoma State 84 SSU 0
2012 Florida State 55 SSU 0
2013 Troy 66 SSU 3
2013 Miami 77 SSU 7

That Troy team that beat them by nine touchdowns was 6-6 and finished in a four way tie for third in the Sun Belt.

Woeful Georgia State, in their inaugural season, beat SSU 55-21.

If we score less than 40 or allow more than 10, it would be a big failure.

We had 13 games (I didn't count Charlotte in the total, since every one didn't case a vote on that game.)

Our overall best prognosticator this week, was ATTALLABLAZE with 12 correct picks.

We had 28 overall entries:
12 - 1
11 - 7
10 - 10
9 - 7
8 - 3

AVerage correct picks: 10

Bowling Green @ Western Kentucky WKU wins at home. WKU wins 59-31
UTSA @ Houston - This game will be really close but Houston pulls it out late. UTSA wins 27-7
Troy @ UAB - UAB is much better and will win this game. UAB wins 48-10
FAU @ Nebraska - Nebraska rolls to a big win Nebraska wins 55-7
Marshall @ Miami (OH) - Marshall wins big Marshall wins 42-27
Hampton @ ODU - ODU by 40 at halftime and cruses to a 24 point win ODU wins 41-28
Rice @ Notre Dame -This game will be closer than most think with Notre Dame pulling it out with a score in the last 3 minutes ND wins 48-17
LaTech @ Oklahoma - Oklahoma will roll in this one and win by 28+ Oklahoma wins 48-16
Bethune-Cookman @ FIU - FIU will be improved enough to win this one Bethune-Cookman wins 14-12
Savannah St. @ Middle Tennessee - MTSU will be up big early and win by 28+ MTSU wins 61-7
Southern Miss @ Mississippi St. -I just can't see this one as being close as MSU wins by 21 MSU wins 49-0
North Texas @ Texas - Strong has to get a win here or he might not last through the season. Texas wins by 17 UT wins 38-7
UTEP @ New Mexico - UTEP scores two defensive touchdowns and wins by 10 UTEP wins 31-24
Charlotte @ Campbell - Charlotte wins easily
Charlotte wins 33-9

I see CUSA going 7-6 in week one.
I got the total win correct but missed on two games. I consider it a good week.

REALITY SAID: UTSA 27-7 IMO, it wasn't even that close. I should have listened to the little bird in my ear and picked the Roadrunners

0-2

Saturday, August 30
Troy @ UAB; 12:00 ET
MY LINE: UAB 27-23 I'm giving UAB the @ home push in this game. It was a OT thriller last year @ Troy.
REALITY SAID: UAB 48-10UAB needed a blow out win to start the season off. And against a in-state opponent as well.

1-2

FAU @ Nebraska; 3:30 ET; Big Ten Network
MY LINE: Nebraska 35-21 @ Nebraska is giving them the edge. FAU got hot in the second half of last season and started to look good. I think that will translate to this year but a W @ Nebrask in week 1 might be too much to pull off.
REALITY SAID: #22 Nebraska 55-7NOT surprised.

2-2

Marshall @ Miami (OH); 3:30 ET; ESPN3
MY LINE: Marshall 45-13 This game should not be close unless Marshall's road woes continue.
REALITY SAID: Marshall 42-27 Not that surprised at the result.

3-2

Hampton @ ODU; 3:30 ET
MY LINE: ODU 45-14 This game should not be close especially since ODU is hosting. The side story will be how does ODU do with "incoming FBS talent" versus a FCS team.
REALITY SAID: ODU 41-28 YUP, not surprised either

4-2

Rice @ Notre Dame; 3:30 ET; NBC
MY LINE: Notre Dame 28-21. Notre Dame should win at home BUT Rice is coming off a stellar year and appear to moving back up the ladder. Just not sure if Rice is ready to pull of the upset @ ND.
REALITY SAID: ND 48-17 I honestly thought it would be closer...

5-2

LaTech @ Oklahoma; 7:00 ET
MY LINE: OU 45-17 There is no way La Tech wins. I guess Skip finally gets to play that @ OU game 05-stirthepot (only ECU fans, if they read this, will get it )
REALITY SAID:#4OU 48-14 Skippy got his wish in playing OU, just not under the ECU banner03-shhhh

6-2

Bethune-Cookman @ FIU; 7:00 ET
MY LINE: BC 27-10 FIU will have to show me something I can believe in before I pick them to win. FWIW, BC won last year @ FIU 34-13
REALITY SAID: BC 14-12Wonders what the write up in the paper turned out to be05-stirthepot

7-2

Savannah St. @ Middle Tennessee; 7:00 ET
MY LINE: MTSU 27- 13 MTSU should not lose this one.
REALITY SAID: MTSU 61-7 OK MTSU fans, I should have picked a bigger margin--happy?

8-2

Southern Miss @ Mississippi St.; 7:30 ET; SEC Network
MY LINE: Miss St 31-17 IF USM hadn't had the track record they have over the last two years I could make this spread tighter but I can't see USM making this close or winning.
REALITY SAID: Miss St 49-0 Yeah...

9-2

North Texas @ Texas; 8:00 ET; Longhorn Network
MY LINE: Texas 37-20. UNT was surprise team last year and did very well for itself. But this game is @ Texas so... IF UNT has a shot its breaking in that new Texas coach for coaching stress @ Texas versus what he had to deal with at Louisville.
REALITY SAID: Texas 38-7 Honestly, I thought UNT would have made more of a game of it.

10-2

UTEP @ New Mexico; 8:00 ET
MY LINE: New Mexico 27-20. UTEP still not there yet.
REALITY SAID: UTEP 31-24Nice job by the Miners.

10-3

And for our future Conference mate:
ESPN Tracking: http://scores.espn.go.com/ncf/scoreboard...ekNumber=1

Thursday, August 28
Charlotte @ Campbell; 7:00 ET
MY LINE: Charlotte 45-10 I mean, if Charlotte can romp them in Charlotte 52-7 then @ Campbell should be a tighter game04-cheers
REALITY SAID: Charlotte 33-9 LULZ

Had to at least do Week One for old times sake LOL.

Charlotte took care of business.

Updated! ...I did better than picking the AAC games LOL.
