Newport RI has always made it the coolest media day event of any conference. It is tough to beat that food and that setting.

Oh, and one thing is just a rule of the universe:
Lobster > Crawfish

Love this GOL quote!

Quote:"I'll play anybody anywhere, but I gotta get a home-and-home. I've got a stream of revenue I've got to feed. And don't tell me playing I-AA schools is helping you. If you want to call yourself a power conference, start playing people.

I agree... to compare Lobster to Crawfish is kind of insane! I kind of just assumed he didn't know better but wow that's quite the comparison now that I think of it. Ill buy you a ton of crawfish if you give me your lobsters.

I really like the "brash" talk from everyone. I hope that rubs off on the players and everyone feels disrespected. O'Leary is just a "I don't give a crap guy" and I love it!

O'Leary is like the uncle who will say anything at a family gathering. Sometimes he can be gruff, but the fact that he will say anything that comes to the top of his head makes his appearance at family gatherings a thing that is not to be missed!

"Did George just tell Aunt Mabel to go eff herself? Yes, he did, but he was probably correct in telling her that. She suggested that the Group of Five move football to the spring."

Ehh, granted I probably haven't tasted the BEST lobster has to offer, but I'd rank it Crab > Lobster > any other fish (including sea monkeys) > Crawfish.

P.S. Nothing like the feeling of bringing up traps full of blue crabs...YUM! Also, Jubilee season is right around the corner...happy eating y'all!!!

Have to agree. Crab is #1 on the seafood list.

It ain't bragging or brash if you can back it up on the playing field. We did that as a conference in year one, but we have to do it again and again because the 'P5' are going to keep selling their 'superiority' and so is most of the national media.

Really in-depth article...no clue what that good article is doing on a site like that.

Gotta luv the closing comments by O'Leary:

O'Leary is less measured when assessing the new political landscape, an attitude afforded by age and success.

"I'll play anybody anywhere, but I gotta get a home-and-home. I've got a stream of revenue I've got to feed. And don't tell me playing I-AA schools is helping you. If you want to call yourself a power conference, start playing people.

"And I think in every conference of those five, you take out three of four top teams out of each and the rest of them are just members getting a paycheck. They know that."

Articles like this one are exactly why Aresco needs to keep doing what he's doing. Quo is crazy for saying otherwise.
