I'm surprised there hasn't been much talk of Justin since the spring - leading into fall camp. Hopefully that will heat up once practice starts soon and he exerts himself on the field.

However, with Jamie Wilson leaving and our strong secondary returning...is there any chance we see him at receiver this year? Everything I've heard is his athleticism is far too great to keep him off the field.

Has anyone heard rumblings about him that haven't been printed?

RE: Justin Ferguson
I am going to guess he will get a few reps with the WR's in camp but primarily be used initially in the secondary. He wasn't really lighting the world on fire at ND from what I can remember. I hope he comes out and surprises us no matter what side of the field he's on.

RE: Justin Ferguson
He was making progress in camp at the safety position, but suffered a shoulder injury and had surgery. He seemed to think he would be ready to go by camp time the last time I talked to him.

I think Fleck wants play makers at DB. We've had a lot of guys who could cover, and could close on receivers, but not a lot of DBs who could read the play, close on the receiver and make the pick. I think he wants DBs with good hands, and a little more size.

That said, I find it odd that this kid could make it on the field as a WR at ND, but not here? On the other hand I have the same faith in Fleck evaluating receivers as I had In Cubit when it came to QBs. I think it's his area of expertise.

No, I'm sure he wants DBs with bad hands who are undersized.

Ya Think? Now why in the world would that be? Good Insights! Keep 'em coming. 03-lmfao
