Just read the article, here are my thoughts...

I cringe when he hear him say things like this:

What I learned about myself was that I can do it. I can definitely do it. I’ve weathered the storm, and I’ve come out better. I’ve continued to change, and it’s been a lot of fun.”

He really needs to stop using the "I" word. It does occasionally come across as a little self-serving. The other side to that, is we don't know the context of the question. It just doesn't do himself any favors.

Also really don't like this statement:

Quote:I probably would have ranked us sixth in the West. Eastern Michigan beat us. We didn’t beat anybody in our division. They should have ranked us sixth.

I understand being cautious here, but I'd rather see him come out with a little more confidence. I get what he's saying, but it comes across very poorly.

I really think this guy should be beating CMU this year, not to mention EMU, Miami, and Idaho. No excuses. We should have beaten CMU last year, the other three had more pathetic programs than us and have first year coaches.

Throw in the 1AA school Murray State, and this coach has a five win schedule and only has to steal a couple more, and he's a hero. Anything less and I think he's a waste.

For the record Peej says some variation of the word "I" 21 times in just those couple quotes in this article.

Of course it's about him. He has an ego, sure. But in order for "him" to be successful, WMU has to be successful.

HJ he wanted preseason last place because of his WTF motto, and for future talking points and potential spin. If we win he can say "we were picked last" if we lose he can say "everyone knew we would struggle"

True though, at least he is being honest. EMU Coaches: "How the hell do we get ranked below a team we beat on our own division"

Finally got an answer out of you for this years expectations! And I totally agree! Someone keep this response handy so we can refer to it in November...DB might call Fleck a HERO...wow that is BIG NEWS coming from DB.

He would be and I would be the first to admit it, I'd even help him pack and move too.

Really disappointed in our local media also that there is nothing up yet on media day. That's across the board too. Pretty sad when I have to revert to Hustle Belt and 247sports for WMU media day info.

How much higher is this class, taking in account the kid from OSU who was in that calc isn't coming here, than the next highest class in MAC history?

Local FOX channel just said they are going to have a segment during sports on PJ at the MAC media day.

Phil Steele (after the shakedown) has it ranked #69. Certainly someone has beaten that.

You should try something new by doing a little of your own research instead on relying on others to do it for you. Just a suggestion.
