Temple's new FB locker room
Temple's new football locker room opened today in our practice facility. Everyone was understandably excited, as it badly needed renovating. Hopefully, the indoor facility renovation is next and the on campus stadium announcement follows after.

Very nice 04-cheers

Edit: I meant the new locker room upgraded ones vs the old.

They look nice. I really like the color scheme change. It's got more of a game atmosphere to it.

You wan't mood lights not bright lights when you're prepping for the game. 04-cheers

Well it's the practice facility locker room, but same idea anyway. The locker rooms at the Linc are pretty crappy. Not really much we can do about that.

They also added a barber shop in there which the players are really excited about.

Do you guys have room for an on campus stadium? I went to Philly last month for a business trip and checked out Temple's campus. I'm not sure where you would put it.

P.S. Philly is AWESOME and I will be back in November for the ECU game.

We're working on it. We have a space right now, but it's a tight fit. We're planning on buying up additional land near it and reportedly closing a street so it would be all encompassing. I think right now, we could do around 25K, so we would need to buy some additional land to get it to 34K-36K.

We just bought a closed school and land, which will be the site of our olympic sports. Our previous location for on-campus olympic sports is reportedly where the stadium will go.

We might need to knock down our indoor facility and close off that street, but the fit is there.

Looks like you have the room...is the general temp on this from the fan base favorable or is this going to be an uphill battle to "sell" to the alumni base?

The problem isn't the fanbase (minus MH55). The problem is the city, lining politicians' pockets and the NIMBY bull**** of the big bad school trying to improve North Philly.

The issue is also PR and timing after cutting several pointless olympic sports in order to be on equal footing with the rest of the conference in terms of number of sponsored sports and properly funding what's left that's not named football and basketball.

Unfortunately, people are unable to think with their brain, so they look at Temple as the bad guy for cutting sports for financial and Title IX compliance reasons.

Discounting the extraneous BS, the easy answer to your question is yes, people want an on campus stadium to happen.

RE: Temple's new FB locker room
Philly, besides the local politicking, inbred corruption, and "NIMBY" thinking is also a conservative minded market. The fallout over chopping several programs (some of which have been restored) struck people the wrong way. Many of our alums like things the way that they were, but we know that football at a D-1 school is more than just a program. It is a marketing tool for the university at large.
Developing the campus to its fullest potential will benefit the whole community.

We do too, but soon in Philly is different than soon in other parts of the country. Once it's announced, planned, blueprinted and funded, it is likely a 2-4 year process from start to finish thanks to union bull****.

Wish you guys hadn't closed your old stadium and solid the land (now a church and it's parking lot now FIRC). It had a nice view of Dowtown and you the space to upgrade and expand.

7 miles away and nowhere near Center City. The Linc is one mile further, but much easier to get to via car and public transit. The whole point of this is to have a stadium on our campus. 7 miles away is a non-starter.
