I wouldn't expect a lot from him as a freshman or even to play. Even though he was a 4* recruit, OL is the most difficult position on the field to make an immediate impact at as a true freshman.

Here is a name you may have heard before, but not as a safety for Cincinnati: Mike Tyson. He will light you up.

Although UCF is stacked at WR I think we find a way to get Jordan Akins the ball. He committed to UCF 4 years ago over UGA and several other SEC programs. Spent 4 years with the Rangers after MLB draft and had college reimbursement written into his contract (no scholly needed). He is 22 years old 6-3 240 and can run, next Brandon Marshall.

houston
on offense-markeith ambles former 5star WR,
--had a slow start last year but joined the team only 2 weeks before the first game and wasnt given time to adjust, but was dominant in the bowl after being given the bowl practices to adjust
http://youtu.be/1nN0H1iQI7o?t=32s

defense
--its between DE tyus bowser or cb/s lee hightower ..
bowser is undersized but lead all texas in sacks his senior year of HS, and as a true freshman and a backup lead our dline in sacks
hightower was a starter on boise as a true fresh and started every game he was healthy (when they were still a top 25 team 2 years ago, sat out last year from transfer rules) and he plays hard

Paxton Lynch, Sam Craft on offense.

Martin Ifedi and Jackson Dillon on defense.

Basically, our whole team is going to break out and win the AAC.

Our safety duo in Mike Tyson and Zach Edwards. I cannot wait to see these two play!

Any of our wide recievers. Its such a deep position I wouldn't be surprised at any one of those guys having a breakout season. Could even be multiple guys!

I agree with this, I actually hope he doesn't play this season and has the time to practice, develop more physically and learn the system without the pressure of having to contribute right away.

I’m afraid that if we do see him play it’s a sign that the team can’t pull together a cohesive group of lineman or have been hit hard by injuries and they are resorting to a raw freshman to fill the hole.

I agree the kid is going to be a game changer, I just hope he’s not forced into action this season. A redshirt season will do both he and the program a lot of good.

All the guys are coming off good spring performances and/or building off strong finishes to the 2013 season. I am not including incoming freshmen into these projections.

Offense:
QB Mike White - has had a great offseason and really showed a lot during Spring practice
TE Sean Price - he has a chance to be a revelation at TE on a national level; started coming in late 2013
RB/FB Kenard Swanson – former 4-star with ‘real’ offers from UF, LSU, Bama but grades issues landed him at USF where he defied the odds and qualified as a freshman last year and had a great spring
OL Thor Jozwiak – comeback season for a kid that had heart condition; completely healthy and probably one of the meaneast but smartest OL in the AAC
WR Chris Dunkley – Florida transfer seems poised to finally have a big year

Defense:
DE Mike Love – skinny, defensive end from St. Pete has put on weight but kept his explosiveness; Selvie-esque type of potential
LB Nigel Harris – played a lot as a freshman and has the ‘it’ factor to play the position
DB Nate Godwin – significant time as freshman, high leadership/character guy that was one of Taggart’s first ‘steals’ when he got hired as this kid has NFL type ability; athletic punishing hitter and excellent range that can play Safety or CB

I like these picks for the most part but Sean Price might not even have the most catches out of the TE's. That will probably go to McFarland.

I almost put in McFarland into that group but Sean Price has more upside right now and from what I've read a more complete player which may mean more opportunity to stay on the field in CWT's system. Either way our TE play will be 10X better this year.

TE is a very important position in Taggat's offense you have to be a good run blocker and pass catcher. The problem we had last year is that BOTH Price and McFarland were used to being pass catchers only. Both are very talented and if they have bulked up as Cyber said and picked up the blocking schemes then our offense will be inmemsively better. Add to that group the big blocking JUCO TE WT brought in and I'm excited about what thus group will produce.

I think Akins is the sleeper for 2015. If you go down the roster we already have Hall, Perriman, Worton, Reese, Williams and Oldham + 5 other guys that have already Red Shirted a season. At this point Akins and incomers - Davis and Smith with have to redshirt. There are 14 WR's on the current roster or incoming.

Let him work with Tyler Harris for a full year down on the Practice squad and cross our fingers that we have the next dynamic duo.

Sort of........as in most people don't know him. I think he's going to dominate.

Hearing Akins might get a look at H back just so he can get on the field. He is big enough to block D Ends and can run past LBs.

He had 5 receptions for 93 yards and a TD and 2 rushes for 16 yards in our spring game. Should join JR WR John Christopher in making up for Robby Anderson's production.

D: True freshman DE Michael Dogbe. #2 in NJ in sacks behind Ohio State signee Darius Slade. Picked Temple over Vanderbilt and Rutgers. Bulked up on his own from 6'3 223 to 6'3 250. Could put on another 10-15 lbs. pretty quickly with an actual college weight and strength program. Likely too talented to not play right away.

The above were the first two players that I thought of when I saw this thread. I would like to add another to the list.

Incoming Freshman WR Kip Patton , who I think might be the sleeper in the most recent recruiting class. The kid is a beast. 6'5" 235lb and runs a 4.56 40. He also plays basketball so I would bet he has better than average vertical leap. Because of his size, I am sure there is a temptation to convert him to TE although now with the recent commitment of former Florida TE Colin Thompson , who may be able to play this year, there may be no reason to now.

Go OWLS - Beat Vandy!

I'm not sure what the story is with Patton in terms of eligibility. He is registered at Temple, but I thought there was talk about him greyshirting. He might end up being a walk on initially. He has a lot of physical talent, but he is pretty raw. I think we're looking at 2 years down the line with him.

He's got a stall with his name on it in the new locker room so I am hoping it means he's gonna play.

Yeah, the whole thing was weird. Initially, he was said to not be eligible, now he's enrolled, but might not be on scholly.
