He might end up being a walk on initially. He has a lot of physical talent, but he is pretty raw. I think we're looking at 2 years down the line with him.

He's got a stall with his name on it in the new locker room so I am hoping it means he's gonna play.

Yeah, the whole thing was weird. Initially, he was said to not be eligible, now he's enrolled, but might not be on scholly.

I just hope he keeps on track, goes to class and sticks. Temple can use all the big physical WR’s they can get and this kid may turn out to be a nice project for the staff if he’s coachable.

One more that I can't believe I didn't mention. Austin Jones! Any Temple fan is praying that Jones is the real deal. Freshman kicker coming to the team with the worst kicking game in college football last season. With any kind of kicking game last year we probably would have had a winning record. He almost has to have a break out season for us to be successful.

He had 5 receptions for 93 yards and a TD and 2 rushes for 16 yards in our spring game. Should join JR WR John Christopher in making up for Robby Anderson's production.

D: True freshman DE Michael Dogbe. #2 in NJ in sacks behind Ohio State signee Darius Slade. Picked Temple over Vanderbilt and Rutgers. Bulked up on his own from 6'3 223 to 6'3 250. Could put on another 10-15 lbs. pretty quickly with an actual college weight and strength program. Likely too talented to not play right away.

The above were the first two players that I thought of when I saw this thread. I would like to add another to the list.

Incoming Freshman WR Kip Patton , who I think might be the sleeper in the most recent recruiting class. The kid is a beast. 6'5" 235lb and runs a 4.56 40. He also plays basketball so I would bet he has better than average vertical leap. Because of his size, I am sure there is a temptation to convert him to TE although now with the recent commitment of former Florida TE Colin Thompson , who may be able to play this year, there may be no reason to now.

Go OWLS - Beat Vandy!

Anyone who can kick and/or punt is a welcomed addition.

We just lost a great one

The loss of starting cornerback J.R. Richardson, suffering from complications of sickle cell anemia, is a big blow to SMU. He probably will not play this season.

Tulane:

Offense: F(RS) QB Tanner Lee
Defense: hhhmmmm.. Hard to pick because a lot of our young guys have a legit shot at breaking out this year. I'll go Tanzel Smart.

At USF in addition to those listed earlier there are a few incoming freshmen that I think will have a big impact this season.

It's amazing the depth in talent that WT has brought on board in two short years. By the end of the season I won't be surprised if majority of the two deep in both sides is made up of freshmen or sophomores.

Not sure if he could be considered an unknown, but Temple rb Zaire Williams I could see reaching 1,6000-4 yards rushing.

Wrong guy.. That is Daquan Barnes. Trevon is 6'2" 206 and 4.43 forty both from same high school New Hanover..lot of talent out of that area. Does Michael Jordan ring a bell...Trevon holds all time reception yards at that school..lots of talent and will be a good one if he can keep his grades up...
Me too!

Ifedi can't be a break out player. He's on every watch list known to man

After that hit the whole country knows who he is. This play has been replayed on every national network a thousand times. I can still hear Jesse Palmer saying "that should be targeting on Stanback"

I was just listening to an O'Leary press conference and it sounds like the former pro baseball player Jordan Akins is a player to watch for this year. With that size and with speed, I will go with Akins.

For ECU, remember a So. WR named Davon Grayson. He was quickly becoming the 2nd option behind Justin Hardy but an injury shut him down after about the 4th-5th game of his freshman campaign last year. It was only after this injury that Isaiah Jones asserted himself into the No. 2 option for Carden. I think Grayson is poised for a big season.

Davon Grayson ready to make a name for himself at ECU

http://hamptonroads.com/2014/08/grayson-...imself-ecu

As the "Z" receiver on East Carolina's football team, Suffolk's Davon Grayson works with offensive coordinator Lincoln Riley, who while at Texas Tech tutored Z-men Michael Crabtree and Danny Amendola into the NFL.

"I've actually watched all of Crabtree's film from Texas Tech," Grayson, a sophomore, said during ECU's media day Tuesday. "It makes me feel as if I can do all the same things."

Grayson said he's faster and stronger from months of rehabilitation. And he even finds himself back atop the Pirates' depth chart - at a different position - as practice begins for ECU's first season in the American Athletic Conference.

Senior outside receiver Cam Worthy played so well in ECU's prolific offense filling Grayson's former "X" spot that Grayson has been moved to the Crabtree role in Riley's offense.

It is a role that the coach said demands greater versatility in an attack that returns senior quarterback Shane Carden and potential All-American slot receiver Justin Hardy.

"We felt like Davon had a little better skill set to be the guy to move, because we did not want to have him and Cam stacked up on one another," Riley said. "He's looked really natural at that spot. There are going to be some ways that we use him that we didn't last year and that he'll really excel at."

For Grayson, that would just be picking up where he left off.
