RE: CWUR 2014 Top 1,000 Universities
Marshall is a regional university, not a national research category institution. That's why we never show up in these rankings. Our mission is to educate the young people of WV and the surrounding areas/states.
That said, I would put my degree up against anyone. As a matter of fact, I used to work alongside a Harvard business grad. While a nice guy and obviously brain smart, he was a terrible business person and had the personality and common sense of a sloth.

Marshall is a better university than people would think. Their forensics program is #1 in the nation.

UTSA, what is your school known for academically? Do you have some advanced math/science/tech programs that I'm not aware of?

Apparently we are like #1 in some technology thing, I think like cybersecurity, and Microsoft just gave of a shitload of money.

Is that just for Bexar County, or for the whole state?

Which of all the publications out there is more credible? I know that each have their flaws but which one has more weight?

AAU membership followed by reading the CMUP report and deciding what you feel is important to you

Business School rankings from Forbes and Business week and others are a bit more reliable for just business undergrad and graduate degrees and focus on the aspects that are most important

the ranking here has some flaws.....being a CEO ect is not the only important job out there or the only high paying job what about owning your own business ect or just a large group of alumni well into the top earners in the USA

also this particular ranking normalizes some things to number of faculty ect, but not others and several others would be more relevant if they were normalized

US Snooze is easy to cheat and has been successfully cheated in the past

others like Washington Monthly (I believe it is the one) use stupid criteria like "volunteering" and other crap like that......as if that really has anything to do with higher education and as if there is any way to distinguish some types of volunteering that might actually do good from foolish political activism or volunteering that is just stupid and a waste of time......much less what anyone may or may not have "learned" from that

Princeton Review is a bigger joke than any of them it is just garbage to sell a garbage rag......at least US Snooze puts SOME effort in

Neither one of those statements is accurate. USM is on a one-game winning streak, and I was just making a joke. Nobody with a brain thought you were claiming to be the #1 anything in Texas Hill Country or Bexar County. Sorr-y.
