Playing in the spring would destroy the bowl system for the mid majors and leave them all for the P5C. Now if 1/2 of the bowls would change their dates I could see a benefit in the mid majors starting 2 months later than the P5C.

Numerous mid majors are great basketball of baseball teams, so they could schedule their football on the same day but different times and offer a 2 for 1.

Is that all you can think about is the bowl system for the mid majors??? Most the bowl games blows and usually the participating schools lose money in them. I don't agree with Jones but at least the man is thinking outside of the box. Most of us think we are competing at the highest level of Div I football but in reality we're not and the P-5 as indicated as much.

I think it is time for the G-5 conferences to do something to try to generate more money for their programs instead of being regulated to hand-me-downs from the P-5 conferences.

Starting the G-5 season 2 months (November) later and connecting with your other top two sports basketball and baseball could be considered operating outside the box.

We should make the P5 pay 2 or 3 million per game.
They make the big bucks so they should pay big bucks.
They need the mid majors.
Also as stated before boycot them. Don't watch their games.

Things like this are why I don't care for college football anymore, even UAB football to some degree. I know going into the season UAB has no chance to win anything special, due to numerous things, many of which we have no control over, and I'm not referring to the UA BOT. It's to the point where I don't watch any college football at all on tv. I'd rather watch the Jaguars and Raiders play than watch any two teams in CFB play.

UAB doesn't even have systems in place to compete for a CUSA Championship in football as of yet. And like you have indicated, it's not all on the UA BOT. But as college football becomes more about money and less about the athletes, I continue to lose more interest in the sport.

It's not fun watching the G-5 conferences struggle to survive while the P-5 grows and become even more powerful than they were 10 years ago.

If you haven't heard the NCAA board voted today to grant autonomy to the P5. Instead of the previously required 2/3 of all 360 some D-I schools to pass a ruling they now only need 60% of P5 schools to get their way. If I remember correctly.

That is actually a good idea. That way we could have football all year around.

It is a horrible idea and here is why. It's one point that I have not heard anyone bring up. Good luck getting players to play at your school. At least any worth watching. Why? What happens in the spring? What would be held during when our season would be going on? The NFL Draft. You think the NFL is going to move their draft back? We wouldn't be able to start our season until after March Madness and there is no way that the NFL moves to accommodate our players. Players that they feel are inferior anyways. An assumption that is proven wrong over and over again by the way.

Now I guarantee you that once the P5 get their autonomy look for the 85 scholarship limit to be increased back to where it used to be. So couple that with players wanting to be drafted not even considering us.

It is a stupid idea that would lead to our football ceasing to exist.
