Watching other C-USA schools
Do any of you make it a point to watch other C-USA teams when they're on TV?

I like to. Especially if it's an OOC game and I root like heck for the C-USA team.

I do. I don't watch them closely and I may flip around during commercials / lulls in the game, but I still try my best to watch them.

RE: Watching other C-USA schools
The only time I did in football (SBC...now C-USA) was on days Western wasn't playing...

If Western is playing it's hard for me to catch any games..I'm traveling on away games and home games we still have a hour's drive and get there early.

I will probably be able to catch more basketball games since we will only make about 50 to 60% of the road games...all home games that isn't on the same day as a away football game.

I like checking out how good each school looks...but it seemed like Western got everyone's best game so I might watch a team play on TV and think...

awful then they beat us

When I'm not watching North Texas play, I watch the other C-USA teams that are on television. I like to scout the teams we have on our schedule and support the conference.

If FAU is not playing, there are three different types of games that I normally go between. Any game with a CUSA team, any game with a Florida team, any game with national championship implications. After that, I'll try to watch possible upsets, G5 matchups, and P5 games in the South.

Then it's 1 AM and Hawaii plays Nevada, so I'll watch that too.

Yes, I enjoy pulling for C-USA schools. I would rather watch UAB vs Troy then the same time slot competition of UCLA at Virginia or Ohio St at Navy. I can no longer muster any interest in the P5.[/align]

No I'm actually a current Rice undergrad student... I just grew up as a diehard UT fan, and had I gone there, would've been sixth generation! I hope UT wins 31-28 on a last second field goal though, and then goes on to demolish Indiana, SMU, and whoever your other OOC is.

I don't watch P5 games, at all. I couldn't care less who wins those games. I only watch the Po' folk of which we are.

I think CUSA teams on the whole have great OOC schedules and I'll be cheering for our teams in all of them, there are a lot of upsets on the table.

We're not even playing in CUSA in football yet, but I still watch every one that comes on TV when I can. A rising tide lifts all ships, so I'm always pulling for the CUSA team. 04-cheers

I like watching North Texas. I used to lurk around their boards. I'm a fan of the Riley Dodge/Todd Dodge era uniforms and I loved that game against Clemson. Too bad Riley couldn't stay healthy.
Also UTSA and ODU interest me. UTSA mostly because David Glasco was heavily recruited by Rice so I'm always interested to see him perform well. Mr. Heinicke for ODU is also very impressive. And when Joe Webb was at UAB, I always looked for UAB games.

My Freshman year at UAB was Joe Webbs Senior year. He was such an athlete. He made so many bigs plays out of broken plays it was incredible. best play was when he lost both his shoes running into the endzone at Memphis
