Off the top of my head I would have guessed La Tech or MTSU.

Yikes... 9 of our 13 members are ranked between 95-126 in the nation according to this FBS power ranking
(not including Charlotte, who doesn't yet play FBS football).

Not to rain on my alma mater's parade, but I don't think ODU should get the 30 points in football for being bowl-eligible but not playing in a bowl, because they weren't eligible as a first-year transitional program. It'd still leave them first, just a lot closer to the three second-place teams.

we must not know what we're talking about when it comes to c-usa.
anyway, quit your b!tching, and we'll flip a coin for sole possession of 111th place.

unfortunately, you are most likely correct....man did we get steamrolled due to short-sided thinking.....you may not wake up from your avatar
disclaimer: I hate having to post something like this, but the facts yesterday, today, and what lies ahead is insurmountable in my strange mind.....I just don't see how we recover in today's monetary system of sport....

What was your wild card sport?
That would most likely be Field hockey. We have won 9 National championships tearing tarholes and scramming away Maryland twerps

Interesting that UTSA didn't get any wild card points despite volleyball winning C-USA. I know it's not a "spectator sport" but our track and cross country teams also won championships.

This was just based off of one year right? Not bad for WKU considering we underachieved in a lot of sports last season especially on the men's side....Women held their own....

These kinds of thing are so pointless. I can poke about a dozen holes in this.
For staters, weighting football three times as much while basketball is weighted twice as much is arbitrary with no logical argument for why that is so. Why not four times or fives or maybe only football should be weighted twice as much as the others. It's simply not defensible.
Second, assigning points only for postseason appearances is asinine considering a vast majority of at-large bids disproportiantley go to power five schools regardless of whether those bids are deserving or not.
Third, if you don't make a bowl or postseason you get zero points. The problem with that is you're only rating four sports meaning you have a very small sample size rendering this basically useless and the wild card is just that. They chose arbitrary sports for the wild card. Middle Tenn, just as an example, doesn't even sponsor five of the eight WC sports they selected.
I can go on, and if I cared to take the time I could come up with something far better than this.

Not to mention making the NIT is a much bigger accomplishment than the CIT and CBI, yet they're the same amount of points.
Furthermore, some schools missed out on points by electing not to participate in them.
Also, why not include ALL other sports in the WC. I would say track and field or volleyball are more popular than some of the ones listed.

It's as arbitrary of a ranking as any, no doubt. Even if it was a solid ranking, we chose not to participate in the postseason in basketball this year because we didn't make the NCAA or NIT. Then, of the wild card sports, they don't even include golf or T&F. Silly.
