The Last Ship
I kind of like this one. So expect it to be cancelled any day.
Has a fair plot, decent character development, and goes at a pace that you don't have to do a lot of guessing or figuring out what is going on.
I want to be lazy late at night watching and not have to think all the time.

Totally going to get cancelled. It would make it on SyFy. But on a major network? No way.

It was doomed when I started to like it. Always happens with any SyFy program I like.
Was a funny episode on the Big Bang Theory when Sheldon was surprised that his favorite SyFy show was cancelled and he had to know the outcome and finally called the producer or writer. Had a train explosion on the final aired program and evidently they didn't know they would be cancelled. Forgot the name of that SyFy program about three years ago.

My wife have a long running joke about sci fi shows we like that get cancelled by major networks with no closure.

The Event
Invasion

I think my first one was before I was married; Space Above and Beyond...man that made me mad.

By the way if you are sci fi fan then you will love Continuum. No chance of cancellation yet because its a Canadian made series.

Oh, yeah I love that show. Good writing and great character development, and good acting. SyFy, but realistic enough to be semi-believable.

By the way, you can almost tell it is filmed in Canada by the amount of cloud cover and light intensity it seems. Even Stargate and Stargate Universe seemed to show the effects. Only thing I have seen filmed in Canada that I would not have thought was is Supernatural.
Of course they have a lot of night scenes in it.

It is really frustrating. You are almost afraid to get too attached to any science fiction series a lot of times due to the possibility, rather probability, that it may be or will be cancelled.

Big Bang Theory still has their running joke going in flashbacks for Sheldon to mention that Firefly will never be cancelled.

Vancouver area has a ridiculous amount of series filmed there.

Convenient city. A shame this country is losing so many businesses the way we have.
Have some hope with The Walking Dead being made in Georgia and several things being made on the North Carolina coast, but nothing compared to even Canada.

RE: The Last Ship
Finally something happening on The Last Ship it seemed.
However are the Russians not able to pick up an American
helicopter at 90 to 100 feet. They have to be fairly close
themselves. Just doesn't make sense.

No Hazmat suits with the little girl? I know she may be OK
but could she not have something on her to affect them?

It's not just the Walking Dead. There is at least one group filming downtown every day. Last week there were two different groups filming on opposite sides of the same street. It's bizarre...

I believe one of the greatest shows in history was filmed there, The X-Files.

I like The Last Ship. The story, the acting and the cinematography pales in comparison to shows like The Walking Dead, The Bridge, etc. but it is a fun show with a 1980s feel to it.

There is a huge amount of filming in Atlanta. I see at least one film crew every week to ten days here.

RE: The Last Ship
It's fairly simplistic, but that is not all bad. Too sleepy sometimes on Sunday night to
want my brain to have to figure out a myriad of complex plots or characters.
