I would be extremely shocked if you hear a peep out of any Georgia Southern fan about next year's football season. We are generally quite reserved when it comes to athletics and try to stay as humble as possible. You shouldn't hear much smack from our bunch.

and the lowest attended games were during the winter break against div-2 or NAIA teams. Once we started SunBelt play during spring semester the numbers picked up.

Do we expect to win? Yes, we expect to win every game regardless of the situation. Will I make a ridiculous statement like we're going to sweep the conference, and crush you guys by 30 again? No. Most of our fans know it will be a battle. Everyone wants to take down the champ.

As far as basketball, my read of the sentiment was that we improved last year and expected to be better this year. We just didn't know how that would play out in a new conference against teams we hadn't experienced. I said it back then that we would be competitive in the conference and play you close.

I guess you can have whatever opinion you would like of our fans. Historically basketball has had a lot of support. It was big when I was there. It's been down recently, but we're heading in the right direction since the coaching change. The atmosphere has definitely turned for the better this year.

Stan, I appreciate your dialogue and support of your school. The original comments were aimed at the handful that have been over the top this past year.

It is a ridiculous prediction to say we will beat Ga State by 30 in Paulson. That will be the first half spread. They have no clue what is waiting for them in Paulson. We score more and give up less than 2014.
