Which will mostly be overturned by the next potus in 2016.

I imagine even Hillary will want to overturn a lot of his exc orders just to have credibility with congress and the American people.

RE: Is the Obama presidency essentially over?
Two years is a long time. Like I've said a few times, I don't trust this president and I don't trust all his water carriers. He had an agenda before he got elected, he's passed some "interesting" bills and he ain't finished. I. Don't. Trust. Him.

When he's really out of the WH then I can breathe a sigh of relief but not until then. He's one of the anti-Christ by his actions and he means to destroy this country.

Wrong again.

What I find funny is that notion that some believe that it even matters if Obama's presidency is done or not.

It's over but he has 2.5 more years. In 6 months we'll be consumed with who is running in 2016.

I mean think of it like this... Most people in those positions aspire to get a big accolade before leaving office. He won the Nobel Peace Prize before taking the oath.

And who could forget his infamous quote:
"I'd rather be a really good one-term president than a mediocre two-term president"

Too bad he wasn't.

you've got a point. virtually the second thing out of the president's mouth after he was inaugurated was a stupid question that proved he hadn't done his homework. closing gitmo; with great fanfare, he signed the executive order directing that it be closed within a year, and then (with a dear-in-the-headlights look on his face) asked an off-camera aide exactly how that worked. and then, he clearly didn't understand the answer.

awkward moment. you would have thought he had a plan, or some working knowledge, or at least a passing curiosity in the process. it was apparently his #1 priority, and he had had the entire transition to look into it, yet he remained clueless.

both times he was elected, he was elected primarily because he wasn't the other guy. the first time, illogically enough, "the other guy" wasn't even on the ballot.

for all the lofty rhetoric and speechifying, there really wasn't a plan in there anywhere. nor, as it turns out, was there really any substance to the guy. it really shouldn't have surprised anyone when the collapse finally came.

oh, and when you run as the messiah, you'd damn well better produce a miracle at some point, or your worshippers will get all disillusioned and stuff . . . nothing worse than a disillusioned worshiper.

Sometimes I think we need a military person, like a general, to run again for POTUS. Someone with some damn cajones. Powell was almost that guy.

He was elected because 94 to 97% of blacks supported him,
and women voted for what they thought was a good looking guy,
and the left thought he was the closest choice to them.

Powell showed exactly what he is and what he stands for. He just used the system as long as he could. He's no different than Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton.

Sadly I'd have to agree. During Gulf I the guy could do no wrong and I loved him. But once he got into the State Dept and afterwards he took a bad turn for the worse.

RE: Is the Obama presidency essentially over?
The space between the 2014 and 2016 elections will represent a lame duck period regardless of the outcome of the 2014 elections. Those final years of an eight-year presidency tend to be a transition period in the mind of the public where they start to think about the next president. It's also a time where few major pieces of legislation are passed. It also represents a time of freedom for the sitting president since they will never face election again.
