UALR baseball story just took a wicked turn...
According to the memorandum issued my UALR Chancellor Joel Anderson yesterday, an individual known as 'Don Hudson' has demanded the UALR athletic department to meet specific demands of his or he will released both audio and video showing numerous misconduct and other serious violations. Here's a snip-it of one of various email exchanges:

" As always, I will give a time line. You have 24 hours to make a public announcement. Next time, I will release video and audio. Mr. Peterson you can trust me when I say you don’t want this in the media. All you have to do is admit to your wrong doings of your athletic department publicly. Confession might cleanse your soul, but I doubt it.” (Hudson to UALR AD Chris Peterson, June 12, 2014).

RE: UALR baseball story just took a wicked turn...
interesting tibbits from this "Mr. Hudson"...

"...you have 48 hours to fix things (ie fire Norwood and Peterson) or I am going to the public with everything I know...And I know more than the public wants to know"

"Mr. Peterson,
Because I respect the man you are, I would like to give you a chance to redeem yourself...All you have to do is release all current and former coaches that have any ties to Norwood from having the possibility of being employed at UALR next year...If you can agree to this I will go away and not leak any more information. If you can't agree to this the next audio will be released is of you."

"Mr. Turner (UALR compliance officer),
What is your definition of due process? Time is of the essence at this point. Somewhat like an eviction notice. Maybe what we have here is a Donald Sterling, Penn State football, Duke Lacrosse, Rutgers basketball, and most recently North Carolina basketball all rolled into one. From the looks of it, I'm right on."

this is weird, I agree its almost like blackmail. Im not buying if he gets his way he will keep the information to himself. If he really was sincere about keeping it quite, he would have placed a phone call to the AD, instead of an e-mail. I get the feeling no matter what UALR does, he is not going to go away quietly.

These stories never end well.

I think this individuals intentions are meant to be in good faith, but I don't think he realizes the potential harm he could do to their program (especially if he REALLY does have over 40 audio and video recordings of various university personnel and their misconduct)

I don't think he cares what he does to their program. It might be a former player or coach or parent whose frustrated that nothing is being done.

If a fan had this info, they would simply give it to the Compliance office and wash their hands of it. I know many UALR fans want their AD gone...but I don't think anyone would take that radical a step to do it. Especially if this "Academic Fraud" stretches well beyond the baseball program and into their beloved basketball programs.

Now that this is all out in the open does "Donald Hudson" cooperate with what he has....or does he go dark.

if you read his emails and how very "passionate" and determined he makes himself appear in them, I think he's definitely not bailing out on his agenda yet.

What are the wiretap laws in Arkansas?

Can you threaten a public institution with negative national publicity if they don't meet your demands to fire an employee or take other action?

It seems like an angry relative torn between improving student-athlete conditions and getting revenge. But I'm not sure that the way he did it doesn't open himself up for his own legal troubles.

For those of us that are ready to clean house this gold.

Sad part here is some good people are going to get catch up in this.

Peterson and his low producers should have stepped aside for younger hungrier leaders several years ago.

In short, it is time to clean house but it is a shame it is going to go down this way.

since the chancellor came out publically about the entire ordeal and along with the local news reporting on it, it seems Mr. Hudson has kept a pretty low profile so far.

Once this got to the level of the chancellor and ua legal counsel they have done well at crisis management. By going public they have eliminated his biggest threat. Now if they actually hire and impower an independent investigator and get to the facts and clear up the mess they will have done well.

He must've had something. According to the chancellor's letter, when Mr. Hudson first sent out his email, he attached an audio recording he had and was requested to send more of what he had, which he didn't respond to.
