Too bad too....would have been a better excuse for our losing games there consistently than the actual reasons: Georgia Dome + GSU = bad voodoo.

This is getting tiring and is one of the reasons I will not shed a tear if we leave some day. How many times must we say the same thing? How is the Dome a disadvantage for building and gaining support. LOSING is a disadvantage for gaining support and selling tickets. The Dome is GREAT building to watch a football game. Anyone who says otherwise has eitiher never seen a game there or is just being a douche. We are being presented with an even better option in Turner Field because not only would we get a football stadium , but also facilities for baseball, softball and soccer at the minimum.
I would just love to know what you would have Dome in 2010 other than play in an NFL stadium
I've seen quite a few games in the Dome. I agree it's a good place to watch a game. However, in my opinion, it's a terrible place for a college football game. Nothing about the experience I've had there connects with college football to me. I've been to quite a few stadiums, even the smaller ones felt more connected to the game than the Dome. The atmosphere just doesn't match up, for me.

I agree ya'll took advantage of what ya'll had. That doesn't make some of the points we've raised be any less valid.
Sorry. I have been to more than a few college games in the Dome and you are just wrong. But as with most things on this board there is a clear bias and a utopian vision of what college football should be and anything different is rejected. And now its time to go clean my bbq pit. Lata
Only when there are 35,000 plus in the Dome does it start to qualify as an atmosphere. Empty seats, echoes, and pop music blaring on the PA does not constitute a college football atmosphere.

Even your beat writer commented recently on the sterile environment in the Dome. I'll even be fair to you about this, I went to the NIU/FSU Orange Bowl at Sun Life Stadium and even felt the same way about it. The stadium was "ok" but the environment itself felt so commercial and sterilized that it didn't feel like a college football game. I went so I could say I went to a BCS game.
How many different stadiums have you watched a college football game in other than the Dome?

Ding dong the witch is dead.
Nothing really to talk about until a successor is found (need someone young, can fundraise, go-getter, etc), and if you're going with a committee it's going to be a while, plus it's the offseason so what else are we going to talk about?

By the default it has to be. This will not be a regular AD search. Skill set needed: Can you run a mini Olympics building program. Many big names may be intrigued but ultimately will not have the fire in the belly when they realize how big this project is.

You didn't understand my implication.
Using a committee means you're going to take the time to evaluate a lot of candidates from a lot of different places. If he's moving fast, then he already has someone in mind....hence the "national search."
