Sapporo’s Space Barley, Price: $110/six-pack, ABV: 5.5%Imported beers usually come with a price increase to cover the transportation cost. So when you are importing ingredients from space you could expect to pay a pretty penny. In 2006, Japanese and Russian scientists tested how well barley could grow in space by growing some in the International Space Station. After 4 years of growing they brought it back to earth, where Japanese brewer Sapporo fermented it into the world’s first space beer.

Crown Ambassador Reserve, Price: $90/750ml, ABV: 10.2%Not all beer from Australia is Foster’s. Believe it or not Aussies can be high brow too. The Crown Ambassador Reserve is aged in French oak barrels for 12 months and sold in a champagne bottle. The brewer has only produced four iterations of the beer since 2008 with each batch limited to 8,000 bottles.

Tutankhamun Ale, Price: $75/500ml, ABV: 6%Through the use of science, Dr. Barry Kemp and Dr. Delwen Samual were able to extract the recipe of an ancient brew of Queen Nefertiti’s Royal Brewery in Egypt. In 1990, Researchers then teamed up with Scottish brewer Jim Merrington to recreate the 3,250-year-old recipe. They created 1000 bottles of the beer with the first bottle selling for around $7,686. Over the years the price dropped down to $75 per bottle.

Brewdog’s Sink the Bismarck, Price: $80/375ml, ABV: 41%
Brewdog brewery in Scotland is known for creating some extravagant beers with their own unique style. Part of the specialty was implementing a freezing method to create beers with unusually high ABV contents. Over the years Brewdog has been competeing with german brewery Schorschbräu to create the world’s strongest beer. Sink the Bismark was one such attempt for the record. Not only did Sink the Bismark get the record but it also broke new grounds by becoming the first “quadruple IPA” with quadruple the amount of hops and bitterness.

Samuel Adams’ Utopias, Price: $150/700ml, ABV: 27%Utopias is America’s most expensive beer and is released every two years by Samuel Adams. Each batch is aged in sherry, brandy, cognac, bourbon, and scotch cask for up to 18 years. With an ABV of 27% it is banned in 13 states.

Schorschbräu’s Schorschbock 57, Price: $275/330ml, ABV: 57.5%

Carlsberg’s Jacobsen Vintage, Price: $400/375ml, ABV: 10.5%

Brewdog’s The End of History, Price: $765/330ml, ABV: 55%

Not your not worth it PANAMA but how bout a nice German Warsteiner Premium Dunkel. Very Good!!!!!!!!!!

I am lost. Is this the so called swill you wont touch?

Yep

Chalk up another vote for Lexington-style. Unfortunately for me, I'm sitting here in Virginia. I am just up the road from Tuffy Stone's place (BBQ Pitmasters host). It's decent, but not what I can get along the I-85 Business Loop.

Still, it's better than those pictures of roast our Texas friend put up. 05-stirthepot

I second the first comment about the BBQ in Virginia. I've lived in Richmond for ten years and still haven't found a spot I really love. There are some decent places but nothing unique or outstanding like some of the places in NC, or to disagree with your last point, in Texas.

The Brick Pit, located on Old Shell Road near USA, has some great BBQ. The books A Thousand Places To See Before You Die in the US and Canada and Real Barbecue, The One-hundred Best BBQ Joints In The Country both feature the Brick Pit. Man vs. Food Nation on the Travel Channel filmed an episode there; you can watch it on the Brick Pit's website.

By the way, they were also featured in Maxim Magazine, August 2008, as having the best Wet Rib's in America. Hey, I'm just the messenger!

I can't believe nobody in Mobile mentioned the Shed. It's awesome.

I can't believe nobody in Mobile mentioned the Shed. It's awesome.

It closed down. I found it to be the second most vile BBQ in the entire state. (After Dreamland, which I find to be basically inedible). When the Shed shut down in Mobile, they stiffed their employees. And then basically laughed about it. Shady, shady, shady people. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4z1VqQOmeXs I've never seen anyone behave like they did. I ate there, once. BBQ was boiled not smoked and the sauce is mainly sugar. Before eating at their remaining location in Ocean Springs, MS, watch the attached news report as to how the owner treats employees that are being fired. Your jaw will drop.

I like Sprayberry's BBQ in Newnan ga, about 30 mins south of Atlanta

I have always heard how good the BBQ was a Sprayberry's. Several years ago while in Newnan I ate lunch at the orginal location downtown. I do not remember the reason now but I was not impressed with there BBQ.

I like the BBQ at Hog Heaven on South 29 in LaGrange. There fried pork skins are to die for.

It's not your traditional BBQ. More Carolina style... Vinegar-based sauce. I like it lol. Either you love it it hate it.

I knew it was something about there BBQ I did not like. To me personally I judge a BBQ loction on there pork BBQ, there BBQ chicken, and there brunswich stew.

Now I know our brothers from texas will disagree but to me BBQ is pork. Brisket and BBQ ribs might be good every once in a while but this old boy can eat BBQ pork or BBQ chicken 7 days a week.

The next time I am in Troy I will have to try the place to mentioned in one of your posts. Not really know a lot about Troy, I would have probally stoped in Country's just due to the fact that I have ate in some of there other locations in the past such as Auburn and Columbus.

I know, it might sound like pure blasphemy, but as a native Alabamian living in Texas, I find the BBQ here to be disappointing. Its not that its bad, its just brisket. I prefer pork.

The original Dreamland, in the shotgun house in Tuscaloosa was quite good. The franchise Dreamland isn't the same.

That explains it. I ate at the little shotgun house in Tuscaloosa after hearing the chain wasn't very good.

I know I'm a little bias but even though me and my dad don't get along that well I will say that he has epic BBQ is his concession trailer he does. Between his seasoning and my grandpas BBQ sauce you can't go wrong.

Texas BBQ is different than other places in the south. It's a given. I'm not a big fan of pork, to be honest, so I'll take the beef BBQ. If you think it's just brisket, you've been to the wrong places.

They had a Shed near Lafayette (in Scott) that lasted about two years before closing. I hadn't heard anything bad about the one here. I did eat at the one in Mobile when we went to a softball game a few years back and I thought it was OK (not great, not bad).

First time I ate at The Shed, it was awesome, but the last time it was average at best. The Brick Pit has always been my favorite in Mobile.
