Cajun Field was built in the early 70's when the oil money was flowing in and everybody thought it would last forever.

The stadium was planned to eventually hold 60k+. That is why the bowl was already there for this current expansion. all we really had to do was pour the concrete.

At the same time this is going on, the prep work for the new Football Office/Weight Room/Meeting Room complex is being done on the other side of this end zone.

The end zone seating will be done by the first game. The new Complex will be done by next Summer.

Amazing what a little winning will do. We couldn't get anything done a few years ago at stAte and now we have probably $40m of improvements coming within the next year or two. We are going to have some really nice stadiums in the SBC in the very near future.

Fix it for you. Construction on the new complex will run through the summer.

CONGRATS to the UL Cajuns . . that is awesome. I am so glad to see the Cajuns and the Red Wolves pour money into their athletic facilities. You guys are building a really nice facility and winning tradition simultaneously.

Go Cajuns . . Go Red Wolves !! 04-cheers

I will be really impressed if the cajuns get 45,000 attendance for any game in 2014.

I should say the fire marshall stopped allowing entry at about 42,000 the last time we played Southern in Lafayette. Attached are a couple of construction photos.

Completely agree, both of those games are gonna have the stadium busting at the seams.

I fully expect the Southern game to get very close. Southern brought a ton of people during the last trip when they were down, just imagine how many more they'll bring coming off of a Championship season like last year.
